Morningstarr -
I tried to search on the number, but nothing comes up. So, I took a chance and called it myself. All I got was lady saying "can I help you?" - she didn't even answer with a company name. When I asked what company I was calling, she responded there were over 30 companies there and that she had already entered my phone number and saw that I wasn't in their system! (She worked pretty fast.) She said that she needed the phone number that was called to find out what company called you. I advised her I wasn't calling for myself, but for someone else - she repeated there's no way for her to tell me who called without knowing your phone number. I asked if it was a collection agency or a payday lender, and she said no. (But I don't believe her - over 30 companies in one location sounds like an internet lender to me!!)
An interesting new twist on the phone scam.

I bet it was an internet paday lender. You are right Suebee, with over 30 companies. LOL. I bet all 30 companies are just DBAs of one company. LOL
No problem, Morningstarr - I understand what you're going throug
No problem, Morningstarr - I understand what you're going through.
I think it must be a payday lender, Steelers - who else would have 30 companies under one roof?

This sort of thing used to throw me into a non controllable panic...amazing what I have learned in little less than 2 weeks!!!

Knowledge is power, and I know everything that I have learned from others on this site, has definately set my mind at ease, and lowered my anxiety level quite substantially. :D

It's definately a collector to me, as the only companies who answer the phone that way are collectors or escort services (not a whole lot of difference, lol..) And the 30 different companies remark gave it away. I would call them, find out who you're dealing with and then come back to the forums and search for information on them.
Good idea, kscornell. By calling, you will be able to find out
Good idea, kscornell. By calling, you will be able to find out who was calling you - but I'd say it's one of the two - collector or payday lender. No reputable or honest company would answer the phone "can I help you" without giving a company name.
That is too funny kscornell, escort services. That cracked me up
That is too funny kscornell, escort services. That cracked me up! :D True I'm sure though.
Phone calls
Morningstarr - I have called a few of my pdl's and the only way they answer the phone is "Customer Service, can I help you." No name, no nothing. Then I started researching and finding these pdl's are all one company just using different pdl names. This is a pdl calling you. I call from a different phone when I call them. I know the routine of "caller ID". Not an idiot here! And they will call you at 8:00am, 9:00pm, doesn't matter. 80 times a day. Don't answer.

From my experience that I have learned there can be 10 or 20 in a suite with phone lines set up. Thats why on a lot of their addresses you will see PMB Private Mail Box or Suite Number that when traced does not even exist. They are shady people that are hard to catch. Why do you all think the AG's even have a hard time tracking them. KYSIDE38

That's very true, but I also wonder if these calls aren't even forwarded to another location. Could they be sent to the caller's home by chance? That would help hide their location even more.

Thanks...I think I will take the stance that if they don't leave a message or email me they obviously don't want me to return a response!!!
