Here is the letter I received from the BBB of Delaware this morning:
National Opportunities is in receipt of your letter dated June 14, 2007 in reference to name removed for safety - Goudah complaint. After speaking with the employees who serviced name removed for safety account and reviewing the notes on the account and the complaint itself, it was determined that some degree of confusion did exist on name removed for safety account.

{This part was in bold} Therefore, to facilitate a resolution to this matter, NOU has agreed to forego pursuing any further payments in connection with this matter. {End bold} By offering to forego any further payments with respect to this complaint, National Opportunities Unlimited does not waive any of its rights whether by contract, statute, or otherwise. It is further asserted that the above offer is not to be construed as an admission of any liability therefore, such liability having been expressly denied.

NOU is pleased to be able to assist name removed for safety in this manner, although it is under no legal obligation to do so. NOU, which is located in Delaware, is licensed by the State of Delaware to make small loans. The NOU loan agreement and website contain all disclosures required by Delware and federal law and make it clear that all transactions are governed by Delaware law. NOU has been advised that the conduct of a national internet program itself is insufficient to establish Kentucky (????,but I live in WI!) legislative or regulatory juridistion over NOU. In responding to name removed for safety complaint, NOU notes and reserves these objections, as well as others.

Sincerely,

National Opportunities Complaint Department
Ok, so they basically wrote my account balance off, even though I still owed them $116.50. In my email I faxed to them, I did state I would pay them that by money order or cashier's check, but when Paul spoke to me, he said it wasn't necessary. But is this statement from them to the BBB as good as a pif letter? Or do I need to press some more and get them to state it in another way in writing??

Thanks for the congrats, Steelers...yeah, it does feel good to have one less to worry. I will take your advice too, frogpatch, and watch my credit report. I have signed up with Identity Guard in May, so it automatically sends me an alert everytime a siginificant updates occurs on my report.

The BBB sent a letter out to Geneva Roth, so that one will be interesting! I haven't heard anything since I sent that fax to them, so this way we have to know something definitive soon, I hope! I sent my AG letters and bank statements and they were regarding World Wide Cash and Geneva Roth, so hopefully these people will be feeling the heat soon!

Way to go Joshua, it feels good doesn't it. I have had three cleared and one that says they sent me to collections for default (kind of funny since this Friday will be my first missed payment, hahaha) Anyway, keep up the hard work, it pays off. My battle is still forthcoming with 5 more to go, but, it's working!

Goudah, thanks for editing that! I totally spaced out and forgot it! :( Definitely a "doh" moment. Yeah, I am dealing with 5 right now still; 3 I made payment arrangments--World Wide Cash (to be paid off at the end of July), Cashcentral, and CashnetUsa-- and the other two Geneva Roth and National Money Store. But when I think about it's not so stressful, because one hasn't contacted me after I sent a Cease and desist and DV letter, and GR I have overpaid, and the other 3 I pay when I can afford it. I am not refinancing every 2 weeks anymore! :)
