Are these internet pdls or storefronts? If these are internet pdls and if they bank does reverse your charges, the ipdls will most more than likely debit again and possibly under a different name, whcich may cause you to go in the negative again. I have since learned that anytime an internet lender has banking info, they will debit as often as they want to. So I had to close the account they had access to and reopen a different one.

Socaligal,
I had to do the affidavits with my bank also and I will have to continue to do them each and every time they debit. It is a lot of hassle. Also, my bank requires proof that I have mailed and faxed to them to tell them that I no longer authorize them to debit from my account. EACH TIME! It's so much easier to just close the account and get a new one somewhere. They can change their name or amount of debit and still get through and then you have to do an affidavit for that also. My bank sucks!

I really wish I had known that I could attempt this when I went through the PDL war! Wow, I would've saved a lot of money. I don't even like to think about how much I paid in overdraft fees right before I closed my account! Good luck..Let us know how it works out for you!

I think the bank scares me more than the PDL's at this point. I have an account that is 12 years old and I hate to lose it but I'm going to. I can't afford not to at this point. I just worry that it will be hell to fix after they try to debit a closed account.
Bank
You can close your account. When my pdl debits went through, I was negative $600. I went to the bank and fought. They charged me their fees which then went and made my account negative over $900. I fought. They credited all the pdl debits and credited all the fees. My account then went back to zero. I thank goodness my bank wasn't as RETARDED as some of these banks. But I did have to fight for it. And it took them some time to do it. But they did it. My advice is to contact your banks corporate office bank president with a letter of complaint. That's what I did. It worked magic. A representative called me and I explained my situation. The pdl's were credited back that week. The next week, I contacted my bank branch regarding my conversation with the corporate office, and that week all the fees were credited back on. So, according to your bank, which I hope aren't RETARDS, you should be able to get those debits credited back on. If it means contacting your banks corporate office with a letter of complaint, then do it. And if it means emailing your bank branch a million times (like I did), then do it. You never know the outcome. It doesn't hurt to fight it. These were unauthorized debits from your account.
