Everyone needs to go see the movie "Sicko". It is a wakeup call to all. To hear stories of insurance companies and drug companies "royally screwing Americans" and how "beloved" congressmen letting it happen is deployable.
This is not pro Democratic or Republican. It is pro helping your fellow man. One of best quotes was from a former member of Parlimament---"If you can spend money to kill people(was referring to WW II, but so appropriate for today), WHY can't we spend money helping people!!!
Wonder if anyone in Washington can answer this question??????

I don't particularly care for some of Michael Moore's views on some things but I watched "Roger and Me" and "Bowling for Columbine" and found them very interesting and informative. I look forward to seeing "Sicko" and I don't think it's nice to make comments about someone's physical appearance by calling him a lard butt.....

I, too, saw this movie and I and about 200 more people in the theater were in shock with what was disclosed. Some of our fellow Americans die because of the beauracacy of the health care(insurance, HMO's) industry and these companies have the congress in their pockets. Many times in the theater, people spontaneously appaulded. I don't know if I agree with Michael Moore tactics, BUT this needed to be told. No one knows when something catastrophic to happen to any of us and we loose our health coverage or one of our loved ones are denied necessary treatment because the insurance companies want to make a profit. This movie was a MAJOR wakeup call to me and should be to all Americans. I agree with a previous post: The looks of Michael Moore are not my concern!

Thanks for the review! I for one cannot wait to see this movie! People are discharged from hospitals way too soon because of insurance etc and they just get even worse or die because of it, or people that are sick cannot afford the insurance or the medical help that they need. As soon as this movie hits my town,I am there!

I don't care about Moore's politics--and he is shining a light on an issue that goes beyond politics in this country: the health care crisis. And imho, and based on my years in this industry, this is long overdue.
Affordable, good health care should be a right in this country, and it's not happening here.
Many reasons I can think of, including the nursing shortage, which I absolutely think is part of it, and greed and waste in HMO's. I work for a HMO and I have seen this firsthand--and yes, mine is one of the ones in the movie. (I'm not saying which one!) So I urge everyone to see this film and more importantly, find out what you can do to bring healthcare to all American citizens!
