I received another response from MTE. I'm going to drive off a cliff! They are stating that on a $300 loan, I have paid $180.00. My state maximum is $352.05. However, they are stating that they are going by KY laws (as a courtesty to my confusion. LOL!)with the max allowed of $17.65 per $100. Okay. but they're coming up with $267.50. I'm coming up with $172.05 by KY law amounts. Here's what they're doing. They're counting a 14 day loan w/the $90 interest payment as one loan. Then another 14 day loan w/the $90 interest payment. Then one more. So basically they're charging me for THREE new loans (interest fee wise). They can't do that. How can they be considered a "new loan" with a finance fee of $90 if the friggin loan wasn't pif? Okay. Help me here. The total amount of fees I can incur by my state law is $17.65 per $100 and then it has to be pif. There are no rollovers/extensions permitted. I want to point this out to them. However, they're giving me the story of their state laws, my state laws don't apply toward internet loans, I have 24 hours to accept the "settlement" amount of $ 267.50 or they will pursue collections of $447.50 that is owed. Now also in there they say are willing to settle with comprimise with respect to KY law. Umm.....if they are comprimising with KY law, doesn't that mean they can't charge rollover/extension fees? Which is what they're doing? In order for it to be considered a "new loan" to add the $90 fee on, the loan would have to be pif. Correct? I mean, they're talking to me like I'm a complete idiot; however, I know what they're trying to do. And the way they word it, it's saying "according to ky law, blah". They are adding $52.05 three times on top of the $300.00 loan. That's basically what it boils down to. And then spouting that they're abiding by my laws - even though "my state lending laws do not apply to the loan that I received from them." HELP ME! They are making me insane!!!! Someone point it out simple and clear to me. They are saying they're abiding to my law, even though it doesn't apply to this internet loan, but then they're adding the $52.05 each time. Is this not considered a rollover?? I'm about ready to just shoot these people! Now I have 24 hours to respond. And they also went around in a circle when I confronted them regarding not getting responses & when I did, I was re-routed to Ten Dollar Pay Day. They said they didn't understand my "confusion". Oh, god. Help me.

Stick to your guns and do not back down, this is an unlicensed internet pdl company. It is obvious they are not following your state's pdl laws. Do not back down. Oklahoma has already ordered them to cease and desist conducting business with OK residents, you need to also file a complaint with OK Attorney General's office, that is where this company is located. They assisted another member who lives in Texas who was dealing with this insane company and MTE marked them PIF. Stick to your guns, do not back down. Even though it may seem you are spinning in circles and getting dizzy, you will be the one to come out on top of this one. :D

I haven't defaulted on a loan with them, but just reading your emails makes me steaming mad!!! Did you contact your AG about these punks?! I think you have done all you could yourself to argue reason with these people, but obviously they are being very thick-headed about this just to get more money from you. :(

Okay, guys. steelers, thank you for the tip on filing with the AG in OK. joshua, yes, I have already filed complaint with the KY AG. So far the only thing between me & MTE is the BBB. Their calculations are so far off, it's not even funny. Plus, like you stated, steelers, they are not licensed. And to claim that my state laws don't apply to internet loans? What the? Are there internet laws that stand alone? Hello! I do owe these people some more money to have it pif at my legal state maximum. But, you're right. They're asking for twice the amount and if I don't respond, they're adding about $100 more on. Well, I'm not responding. They just drive me batty! Since I'm not responding within 24 hours (of their scary deadline), it's going to be turned over for over $400.00. Let them explain those charges. I'm filing once again with the BBB, the AG, the FTC, etc. I don't mind filing again. They need an update. And I love the emails I get from them telling me I'm "confused". Hard copies, hard copies. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You know how I freak out & I just come straight here and post. To hell with MTE. Hope they choke on their hot dog at their 4th of July cook-out.

Cannr, Just give it a little more time to hear back from the AG I promise they will answer you. Dont settle anything with them until you hear back from AG. Like I have said do you think they are going to show up in KY? I think not. They are ILLEGAL there. KYSIDE38

I was hoping you'd come along, kyside! Thank you! Nope. I'm taking your advice. I'm going to have my little "stand off" with MTE. However, do you think it's okay to respond to them (not through BBB) via email and state AGAIN my laws and how they're calculating my amount due? I love it when they put it in writing because then when you're reading it, it's stating they're following the KY law, then the figures don't match. I want another documentation telling me how STUPID I am and I'm CONFUSED and how they calculated my amount due. Oh. And if I ask them how they came up with over $400. You think I can fire another letter off to them? Of course it won't be a settlement letter, I'm not responding to the BBB. It would just be a "this is what I understand is happening" kind of letter.......

Here is what I would do. You are driving yourself crazy. This is an ILLEGAL company. I would respond back to the BBB and tell them I am not going to have any more correspondence with MTE. I would say in the complaint that I have contacted the Attorney General in my state. And that I am waiting on a response from them. I would also state that this company is doing nothing to resolve this but breaking state law. You need to relax and have a good fourth. You are going to give yourself a stroke and its not worth it trust me. KYSIDE38

kyside, thank you. Your wise advice has been taken. No more correspondence with MTE. I have to learn to calm myself down! If or when the BBB gets back with me (not MTE themselves, as they have been doing), that is the response I will give them. Until then, nothing. I really appreciate all your input on my pdl's. You've done nothing but give me great advice and it's worked wonders so far. Okay, I'll try not to have a stroke! LOL! You're the best!

Cannr, RELAX! Aren't you the one that tells me that everything will work out in the end. It will for you as well. MTE is just trying to get you worked up so that you will freak out and accept one of their offers and you are giving them what they want by FREAKING OUT! You will make it through this, you are STRONG!

Thank you! Yes, don't I have words of wisdom for everyone and then have a panic attack myself? LOL! Lord knows it's MTE that's driving me insane! But once I read the posts, I do listen, and I do calm down. Now, if I were reading the post as a separate person (as if it was someone else posting) I'd be like "Don't respond to them. Let the BBB and AG handle it. Don't give them any more money." But here I am freaking out like a damn idiot! LOL! It takes you guys to SLAP ME IN THE FACE to come back to reality! Thank you! Oh. By the way, MTE can BITE ME AGAIN! LOL!

Oh, bflow, don't I know what you mean! It's amazing that we've gained so much knowledge on this forum, but yet we're still afraid a pdl is going to come and knock on our door! LOL! I love to laugh when I read your posts! At least we can make light of it! Advice to anyone else reading these posts on the forum - It's okay to freak out. Just get on here before responding to the pdl and get advice. Then respond or don't respond depending upon your decision. But the best advice ever is to GET ON HERE AND ASK FOR HELP BEFORE RESPONDING! I probably would have done some really stupid stuff had I not gotten advice here first, then responded. Or blow them off. Whichever!

Yeah, really stupid stuff, kind of like PAYING THEM! If I would have had the knowledge (HAHAHA) back when I got the first PDL (12/06) I would have stopped paying them a long time ago. CMG got 840.00 on a 200 loan. Probably won't see that money ever again. But, gee, as a favor to me they did mark my account PIF, LOL!!!

Isn't that the truth! I wish I had found this site sooner! But $840 for a $200 loan????? Okay, so they marked it pif. Good for them. It's pif 4 times over! I'd file complaints and try for a refund of the overpayment. Hell, yes! That's like $600 in your pocket! Just don't go directly to the pdl and inquire about a refund. That's not good. File complaints and let the BBB or AG take care of it. You should get a refund on that money. I don't give a crap if they say it's "closed". No. And I'm sure they did it as a "favor" to you. Just like these idiots tell me they're doing it for "good customer relations". Not because they've done anything wrong. Okay............

Now, Cannr, You know they operate totally legal!!! RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't contacted anyone directly for anything yet, other than the initial letter to revoke, etc. I got the 4 PIF's that way, and believe me, I'm not complaining about that. 4 is good, I hust have 5 to go and they aren't responding, etc....
So, I am going to file the complaints and maybe if I could even get some of the refunds, it would be great, but, if not...chalk it up to another lesson learned!
