Hello everyone! Thank god for this website. I need help and I live in the State of Florida. I currently have 7 PDL, which are: zip cash 450/135 fee for renewal, tendollar loan 300/90 fee, apollo 300/90 fee, plaza processing 300/90 fee, jd marketing 300/90 fee, national oppt. 300/90 fee , arrowhead 300/90 fee and the last and not least SONIC PAYDAY 800/208.84 fee. I have had these loans for over a year. I closed my bank account on Friday and the bank financial person guided me on how they were going to proceed, first no more debits - cancel direct deposit into the account and open another account ASAP. What do I tell these people when the start calling me, which should be as soon as tueday. I cannot afford them anymore, I can no longer also pay late fee to my renter or car. I feel really bad but I had to do what I needed to do at the time. I need all your suggestions and support to go through this issue which has me with no sleep for weeks now.

Welcome! Closing your account is a good first step. If you have had these loans for a year, you probably have way overpaid them with renewals. Total up what you have paid with fees and if they are over the loan amount (and they will probably be), demand that your accounts be marked paid in full, or you will file a claim with the Florida State Attorney General's Office.
And in Sonic's case, revoke the Voluntary Wage Assignment you signed to get the loan in writing, and make sure your payroll dept gets it tomorrow. This will be the first thing they will try once they see that you have defaulted, so it's imperative that you do this at your first opportunity.
And last, stay strong, we are just a mouseclick away!

It really depends on whether the IPDL is licensed in your state--and in Sonic's case, they have been banned from several states already, including California. Check to see whether these places are licensed first by going to your state government website. Since they are IPDL's, they are probably not licensed, but double check this to be sure.
If they're not licensed, they are not going to risk taking you to court, because then they would have to tell a judge about their shady practices. Filing with the AG and letting them know about it, will make them alot more open to workable payment arrangements with you. This will let them know that you mean business and know your rights.

Also go through and read about how these people will try to get you to pay more. One of the big things they do is tell you that you are going to be picked up by the police and go to jail. You will not go to jail, so just be aware of that. Do some reading and you will find a lot of information regarding their tatics.

Also, if you have not done it yet, make sure you write each of your payday loan places, letting them know that you have revoked your authorization to debit your account, any wage assignment, to contact your place of employment or your employer. You can send these either via email or USPS or both if you wish. Make sure if you send it USPS that you send it certified or registered with return receipt. Keep copies of your letters and any correspondence you receive from them. You might also want to tell them that you will only communicate with them via email so you can have everything that is said in writing. Hang in there!!!

I called the state attorney office today and a real nice gentlemen was so happy to speak with me regarding Sonic payday. He said to fill out a claim and for all that I have pending. He has over 300 claims for Sonic. Wants the florida government to pay his trip to Ireland to get these people and ring there neck. He said they cannot do anything because they are not license in Florida or anyone in the US!
Thanks for your help
