As I have read other threads on this site, I am thankful that I am not alone in the trap of payday loans. It is a constant cycle that I am ready to break. I am getting seperated from my husband and will be raising three kids. I know I could make it with my income with I could at least get back to ground zero and away from these loans. Most of my income now just pays fees and interest. I am in Ohio and I owe a mixture of internet and storefront pdls. I have 7 out now. I was looking for a company that could consolidate them into one monthly payment. I looked into Langhorne but from what I see from the site, that I will pay them more in fees than the loans themselves. Closing my account is not an option. I have other bills that come out as ACH.
Can anyone give me some advice?

Hi. I have two payday loans in Texas with two storefronts. One is named Check N Go for $1000 ($224 in fees every two weeks) and one with Ace Cash Express for $1000 ($200 in fees every two weeks). I have had the loans for about 1 1/2 months so I have paid approx $1100 in fees. I have never missed a repayment but I in a bind and don't know how I can ever get them paid off with this high interest. I have never had two loans at once but something came up at home and I had to take out two loans to cover the expense. Any suggestions on how to work out a repayment plan and get rid of the high interest?

Check N Go are CFSA members which allows an extended payment plan. This must be requested before you defualt, so I would call them ASAP! If you cannot afford this repayment plan I suggest you call their corporate offices and try to get something more reasonable. Be honest and expalin your situation. It is worth a shot

Ace Cash Express, however are not CFSA members, but may be able to offer you a payment arrangement. When I used their services, I was able to do a payment arrangement once every 12 months. So just call them and ask better yet pay them a visit.

Hello! REally need some help. I have 6 outstanding loans (4 online and 2 storefront). How can I find out which ones are illegal? I have nothing left each month after the fees are paid and I'm not sure if I should do a debt consolidation. Thank you in advance, I'm barely treading water.

I currently have three payday loans out that are driving me into the dirt. I pay the loans every two weeks then have to re-loan just to get by and pay the bills. This has been going on for almost a year and I need help. I have one loan with Rapid Cash $700 / Fee's are $95 / Another loan with The Cash store for $700 / Fee's are $95 and Third one is with Checkmate for $525.00 / Fee's are $77.85. So, here I am, I am and I feel like this is just a revolving door of distruction and I have heard that in the state of Washington the laws are different. If I need to close my account then I will, but do I call the loan companys and tell them Im closing the account and just send them monthly payments? Or do I just wait for them to start calling me and set up arrangments with them? Not sure how to go about this. HELP

They aren't even located in the U.S., and there was no check involved, so yeah, they are yanking your chain.

We can settle for $400 the original amount of the loan.

Please advise if you are interestedin the settlement in as much as on 4/23/10 at 4:00 PM east coast time your account will go to an outside collection agency & to the credit bureau.

I hope we can work this out.

Thank you,

Now I took two previous loan with them and I paid almost $400.00 in fees, I told them that I'm not going to settle with them until they refund the money that I overpaid on fees or for them to apply those fees for this current loan...Am I doing the right thing? Arey legally capable to send this account to the credit bureau? or is just a scare tactic? Please advice

Scare tactic, and even if they do report it all you would need to do is dispute it, they aren't licensed, case closed. :)

Someone will be along to tell you payday lending is illegal in Georgia, and they will forget to mention that the Georgia Industrial Loan Commissioner has never gone after ANY internet lenders. Oxendine declared victory when he chased the storefronts out and (since he is running for governor now) would rather die than admit there is still a payday loan problem in Georgia. Meanwhile, you have two problems - FBOD and Elastic are bank loans and are LEGAL everywhere. (Federal laws governing banks trump every state's laws and their products - not exactly pdls - are permitted under federal law). Lakota and Great Sky are tied in with Indian tribes. Doesn't make their loans enforceable in Georgia, but the tribes are sitting on two appeals court decisions (California and Colorado) that say the states can't do anything to them. So while they can't sue you, they will harass you with impunity. And Lakota will send wage assignment paperwork to your employer if you default, so make sure you revoke that authorization and let your boss know that you did.

FBD and Elastic are legal, make payment arrangements with them, as for the other ones, they aren't legal lenders so CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

Like so many others on this link, I am in a whirlwind of payday loan debt. I don't mind closing out my account and ignoring this lenders, who for the most part are probably illegal anyway. My biggest concern are the calls to my job and references that may begin due to me ignoring them. Has anyone had this issue and how have you handled it?

Talk to your employer and explain that you have been scammed by a loan company, tell them you are in the process of resolving the issue by closing your account and filing complaints with your Attorney General and the FTC. Also explain that you may receive threatening phone calls but you are the victim here and have no control over incoming calls.

I got a couple of payday loan while my wife was out of work and they were taking $270 every two weeks and I had noe way of paying them back, when I have to pay for rent, food, utiliies and their $540 dollars a month. Plus I have to kid 1 in school and 1 that will start next year.

These guys have been calling me telling me that I am going to have the police come to my job and arrest me if I don't pay today. One guy said that I got the money to pay child support. They were making the craziest assumptions about me.
They keep saying i am going to have a bad day if I don't pay. I have been asking what do you mean then they try to change the subject. Is the behavoir illegal?
I do want to pay my debt, but I have to be able to make payment I can afford.
Also one of these sleeze bags gave my checking account info to someone who put me in a "program" that I did not want and was debiting my acount for $8.49 transaction which over drew my account that is why I had to close my account. I did not authorize this 3rd party company to debit my acount.

Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can I find out who's legal and who's not?
I got in way in over my head and now my income and home situation has changed. I can't pay these guys back and some of them I've already paid in as much if not more then I owed in the first place.
I've closed my checking account because others (online discount centers) were taking from my account without my authorization.
Where can I find my options?
I'm in Oregon.

Who are the payday lenders? Are they internet or storefront? How much did you borrow? How much have you paid back? Post this information and someone will be able to help you.

Ace Cash Express $300 (store front)
Speedy Cash $300 (store front)
Check into cash $300 (internet)
Zig19 $300 (internet)
Sure Advance $500 (paid $571 back and they say that I owe them $600)(internet)
Paycheck today $300 (I think this one is paid off)(internet)
Cash Net USA $300 (internet)
Cash Direct express $400 (paid back $530, they say I owe them over $300) (internet)

This has gotten so overwhelming that even I can't keep up anymore.
Most of the $300 ones where 30 day loans, but I got to the point where I was taking out a loan to pay back another. The $500 ones were supose to be $300, but they didn't give me that option. I requested $300 and they gave me $500 and sucked me into this revolving hell!!
I hope you can help stear me in the right direction.
Thank you.

Like many here, I have several payday loans out....6 of them. I am working with a payday loan consolidator, who sent notices for cease and desist, withdrawal of ach, etc. to all of the lenders (I have copies) but I checked my bank statement, and one of them has already hit my account, even though my paycheck won't be there until Monday.

My loans are with:

Pack Management Group: $300
500FastCash: $150
PDY Services: $200
NLS Cash Advance: $350
Fleet Marketing: $400
Impact Cash: $500

I live in Texas. How do I stop them??

I would just like to advocate for Payday Loan Consolidators just a little. Some of the people here are able to do this themselves, but I enlisted the help of a consolidator and I have had a lot of luck. I have settled about 1/2 of my loans for a fraction of the original loan amount. Yes, you will pay fees, but for me it was worth it as the consolidator did a lot of the "dirty" work, ie: making phone calls and faxes, talking to harassing lenders and collectors saving you a lot of time and stress. I would suggest if you have the time and patience to "fight" this process out then by all means, save some money and do so. I am working two jobs and going to school at night part-time, I found that this was a time consuming process and needed a little help. My consolidator acts as a shoulder to lean on too, just like this website is for all of us. I have called my consolidator in tears before and they have helped me see the reality in this horrible cycle. I just wanted to throw that out there as I feel like consolidators get a bad rap. Perhaps I got lucky with my choice bc I am sure there are some consolidators who are in the business to scam as well. Good luck to all!!

It's a scam! You can't go to jail for owing a debt! File a complaint against them with the FTC and your attorney general's office, this is getting ridiculous, so many people are receiving these scam calls! Read the link below:

Hi, I have three payday loans currently out there and two are online, one is in store and I live in Missouri. The first one took out in november for $400 and have had to pay $106 every week since for "extensions." The second loan I am currently paying off in installments of $178 every two weeks for three payments and I have already made one, and it was for a $450 loan. The last loan I have is with Quickcash and that is for $500, that I pay off every week at $600 and retake out. What can i do to stop this? I know if I got the online payday loans paid off I could payoff the in store one, but I keep getting hit for $106 every two weeks with the first one from CScashservices, and the second one I am paying off is from CashNetUsa. Any advice?

Also I have been paying $106 every two weeks since November of last year.
