I have not gotten any type of response from the remainig 5 of my PDL's. No GO To Hell response, no leave me alone response, NO RESPONSE AT ALL!!!!!! For those of you that don't know the whole situation, it is getting closer to payday and I'm freakin! I can't get a new checking account, due to my Chexsystem report(only one old acct, that was OD and I paid it off, but it stays for 5 FRICKIN YEARS!)! So, I know more of my money will be sucked out of the bank on Friday!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I can get it back, the hard way. With copies of what I faxed telling them to stop debiting, etc. But, not the point! How long will that money be tied up????? I have no clue. So, I will once again have to wait to pay some bills until all the money is back in my account, which also makes it harder to keep a positive attitude.
I stopped my direct deposit already, so, we do have my LITTLE paycheck that won't go into the bank, BUT...hubby can't stop direct deposit because his company only does Direct Deposit or a ComData Card (basically a ATM card that truckers use for expenses and what not...He works for a trucking company as a Driver Manager...LOL---his job sucks!) So, without a checking account, DUH....??????? WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?

Thanks Goudah I'll let ya know what happens on Monday. Not to be a pest but!! Do you know with Chex if our old checking acct was a joint acct would this be on both our reports or may it only affect my wifes. I'm still waiting to get my report from Chex to see if it's on both shes hoping its only on hers.
thanks again!!

If it was a joint account, the probably reported it under both names . . . . Although it's possible they only reported it under one name. Usually they will do both though for joint accounts, even in cases where one person is just a signer, not even a user of the account.

BTW - Your not a pest for asking questions! If there were no questions, there would be nothing to do and the forums would go dead . . . . .

Thanks for the info and support I'll let you know what happens on Monday at both banks I'm writing a letter to the old bank right now and going over there on Monday to plead my case. This has been so rough to deal with I had no clue my wife had the PDL's that put us in this mess till it was too late and everything was behind. One minute I thought we where in great shape financialy the next minute I found out how bad it really was. Now I'm tring to fix everthing and it seems like whenever it starts getting better it gets worse. I'm still waiting on her internet PDL's to send me something so I'm sure that will be another adventure starting soon.
Thanks Again!!

stillnuts,
I'm so sorry you had to find out about these that way. I really know how that situation feels as I am a "wife" that did not tell my husband until after I was sooooo far in the hole I couldn't see out anymore. Our cars were behind, car insurance was cancelled due to not having $$ to pay, I'm paying just what is behind on cable to keep it from getting cut off, etc.... So, believe me, I understand. My husband freaked out!!! Told me I had to learn how to come to him with problems and TOGETHER we would figure out how to get the money for something but not this way!!! I was up night after night sick in my stomach worrying to death over this, but, now, I just took it into my own hands and ran with it, I've gotten 4 paid in fulls, and 1 collection (wasn't what I was hoping for) but.... and 1 that stopped debiting but they want me to pay them $300 more and I've already overpaid ..NOT HAPPENING! THis week I had one of the hardest companies NOT debit my account, I think something is wrong there, not sure what to expect next. My point is...
YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT, it just takes a little longer for some of the companies. In my case, I found the companies that I had overpaid the most are the ones that wanted to PIF me but no refund. I'm ok with that as long as they don't take any more money. My HUSBAND AND I look at it like this, it's like a refund for them to not take any more of their rollover fees, etc.

I, also, did NOT tell my my hubby. My reasoning was i got myself into this mess and i'm gonna get myself out of it! Well was i EVER wrong! Now they've sent him a summons..... SIGHS. I was scared to death to tell him, but i did and i felt bad for him! He was SO hurt and took it as i didn't trust him to come to him and tell him but that was NOT the case at all! I know how men are, if u tell them a problem they want to solve it for u and since i DID this i wanted to un-do it!!! All on my own! DIdn't happen that way but we will survive this as we have many more MUCH worse things than this in our marriage!
Good luck,
Ang

I was scared to tell my husband because several years earlier he had told me that if I hid anything like this again, he would divorce me. He said it out of anger, etc, but I had that in my mind and was scared to death to tell him. Of course, I have told him an dguess what...NO DIVORCE!

Just a update after talking with the branch manager at our new bank and explaining our mess he said he'd see what he could do. I also gave him copies of the dispute letters to Chexsystems and to our old bank. He got approval from their loss pervention dept. to keep the acct. open as long as it remains in good standing. One more bridge crossed on to the next one. Thanks to everyone for your advice and support!!!

Great news! :D Man, all this bank stuff is just crazy. I mean, you honestly would never dream it would be this nuts. But that's what the pdl's do to you! They cause so many problems and no one seems to think the bank would be such a big concern. You would think they would just close your account and move on. I'm so upset to see how many people have such a hard time with their own bank. It's actually kind of disgusting. So when we hear GOOD news, I'm glad to see it posted!!!

I asked that question to my HR manager at work
Morning, usually banks link checking and savings accounts. So if a debit comes into checking and there is not enough they will take it from savings to "SAVE YOU A NSF FEE"
I also checked with my bank and yes its true
Only thing is to set up a savings at a different bank, and hope chex does not find you

i also am not using the same bank. I did not feel safe using a bank that thesepdl knew i once used. I am now using the bank my job uses. Its a small manhattan bank with not too many branches. Now i FEEL SAFE. Today i will close out the other new one.All I need is one checking account, and i will open a savings at another bank. Goudah's advice was good, Not to put all in one. Its a shame we have to be so afraid, just because we got caught up in this mess. Seems like we will be punished forever.

Yeah, ever since my bank account got frozen without notice and I couldn't access any of my money for 6 weeks I will never keep all my money in one account. My work even allows me to split my direct deposit to go into as many accounts as I want! It's also good in case regular old ID theft happens to you and someone hits your account. You still have some money in the other accounts so it's not so much of a hassel.

Racer - Congrats! That is awesome! I'm glad your new bank is letting you keep the account.

My job also allows me to split my direct deposit into as many accounts as i want. Most do, some hr people are lazy and just dont want to help their fellow employee.
I think for the monent i will only have my money put into my SAFE account. That way I will have control, If I want to put some in another account i can withdraw and do it my self. I now believe that i dont want(even work people) to have access to my accounts
