Collection agencies taking chance of our unawareness
Date: Thu, 08/25/2005 - 05:30
“Collection agency is harassing me†– a very common complain today. People are applying for loans frequently and lots of easy-accessible loan companies are there to trap them. As a result, the borrowers become default on their loans randomly and have to face collection calls.
Why do the collection agencies adopt unfair means to collect the debt, despite of the fact that sufficient support is there for consumers? Are we not aware of our legal rights? Don't we exercise these rights properly?
If all of us are informed about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, we can handle collection calls efficiently. Need your suggestion.

Hi buddy
Welcome to the forums.
It's nice that you have started this topic in this forum. Their are positive and negative sides of both the collection agencies and the consumers. Not all collection agencies use the same illegal methods while recovering the debt.
There are consumers who are paying the debt to the collection agencies and they don't have any complaints against them. Those who are having problems with such agencies seek some better alternatives.
It is the Federal government that has implemented the fdcpa law and we all are trying to abide by it.
