cant afford 12k in credit cards debt, please advice

Some credit card companies have a program that will lower your interest so you can get a handle on your debt. I believe it is called a hardship program. Sometimes they will just stop the fees and interest for a peroid of 6-12 months. to help you get a handle on things. You can find this out by calling the company and telling them your situation and tell them that you don't want to miss any payments and if they have a program that can help you out. I did that with my dads chase account and my capitol one account. Sometimes they may even lower the payment for a peroid of time.
