Advice after Eviction

I was evicted and didn't know what to do, I listened to my kids father and didn't go to court. If I had gone the judge would've seen the pictures I had of a melted thermostat, never fixed. Tub half full of sewage and roaches all over the walls and doors. It was so bad for sometimes 3 days in a row. I later found out that the tenants before me had beat the landlord up before because of how bad he treated them. The landlord never came out to the building, only the manager and he never fixed anything. Even worse we had 3 different managers when I was there because they all moved out after about 3 months.

The eviction occurred just 3 years ago and I am desperate to figure out what to do. It says I owe $1300. What should I do?

Do you still have those pictures? Do you have witnesses to what you were going through? If so, you can civilly sue. It sounds like you may have a case here

And were you friendly with your neighbors? Were they also going

And were you friendly with your neighbors? Were they also going through the same problems? A lawyer might be more willing to take a case if there are multiple parties, making it a class-action suit. This would mean a bigger payoff for them.
