I try and try to pay things and i just seem to get myself in deeper. everytime we try to pay something another thing goes wrong. the car needs a part the kids need school cloths. i have the same cloths i wore from 1993 because we can never afford to get just something. sometimes i wish a magical little fairy would come down and pay all of my bills. ha dream on i say.

Sorry things are so rough for you. At the moment, I know the feeling in many ways. Every time I think there is light at the end of the tunnel, something unexpected happens and I am two steps back instead of forward.

Please keep posting as this is a great place for help, advice and support.

I also know this feeling all too well. I am still behind on my car payments, not as much as when this all started, but still behind. And I need to take the money to go to my parent's to pick up my son, he goes there every summer and it's time for him to come home. I've already had to postpone it two weeks until the next check, it sucks!!!

It seems that's always the way. Just when you think you are making it, something else comes up. Something always happens to our car or house and puts us in debt yet again. it's like a revolving circle. I hope you find a plan for you! This board has been a great help for me, and knowing that I'm not the only one. Good luck!

So i guess such is life huh? Cuz i feel the same way also! I always say "if it weren't for bad luck we'd have none at all" But this too shall pass.... (then something else will come up! ha ha)
It feels good to know ur not alone, that others go thru the same thing!
So, if nothing else the support here is great!

People can get into debt problems at any income level. Many wonderful books are available that will help you find ways to save money and begin the process of crawling out of the hole (no need to buy a book; use your library). Also make use of free credit or financial counseling in your area. I would pick one small bill and work at paying that one off; then start with another. Even small victories over debt can help you change your own habits and attitudes and start getting things turned around.

You are so right gmanch, we are doing that, we started with the lowest PDL and are working our way up, then, on to other bills, etc. We hope that this time next year we will have some of our debt cleared. Of course, if I hadn't done this PDL thing, it would be easier, but I'll chalk it up as a LESSON LEARNED (the hard way, LOL)... and MOVE ON!!!
