Hi drpheelgood35
Welcome to the debt consolidation care forums

In the State of Rhode Island the statute of limitation for contracts and open accounts is 10 years. The creditor cannot sue your wife for the amount of debt because the SOL of the state for contracts and open accounts is over. But irrespective of this you should try to pay off your debts.

You can go for a debt consolidation program where your two credit card debts will be consolidated into one single debt. The debt consultant of the debt consolidation company will negotiate with your creditors and if the negotiation is successful then your total debt amount will be reduced by 40% to 60%.

In addition your interest charges will also be reduced as you will be now paying off a single and reduced amount of debt. Further all the late fees will be eliminated. You should immediately consult a debt consolidation company and pay off your debt as quickly as possible. This will also help you to increase your credit score.

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards
Peter

I understand this is a personal relation between you and your friend and my opinion to you is that you should try to convince her not to spoil this friendly relation just because of some money. You tried to help her in those times when she needed money and she should not return this with mistrust.

She will not become richer by keeping that money with herself nor will you become poorer by not receiving that money. Therefore, try to solve the matter without keeping any keeping any prejudice.
