I fell for the old "zero percent financing for a year" gag. I thought wow, that's not bad so I used my personal CC to start a small business. Well as soon as my debt to available balance ratio went over 50% my rate jumped to 33%. I was shocked!!! I called the CC company (Chase) and asked what happened. They said I had missed a payment and now had to pay the penalty interest rate.
I was furious. I tried reasoning with the woman saying that I had never got a bill that month, and like most people, if you don't get a bill then you don't pay it. She then told me that I had signed up for automatic bill pay online. I thought that was suspicious since I had never even been to the Chase website, filled out any forms, or logged in and created a password. I told the person on the phone this and they replied "well sir, our records show that you did." "But I didn't," I said. "I've never even been to your website." To which she repeated "Well our records show that you did." So now i'm S.O.L. Trying to get this stupid CC refied or something. But it's hard because now that I show that I missed a payment on my card and I'm paying inflated interest, no other loan companies want to touch me. I hope I can find some company our there that actually cares about people becoming debt free instead of slaves.

Call and tell them you are transferring your balnce to another card unless they give you a lower rate. If they say no call them again and again and again and write them until they do. If they still say no do it. Transfer to a better deal. This time read that fine print! If you have good credit that will be easy to get a deal..
