Pay Day loans are killing me

I feel like a Complete Idiot. I took out a payday loan several months ago, knowing I could afford the ninety dollar payments each paycheck. To make a long story short, I took out another and another. Now the fees are so much that I can't afford it. I make commissions and the summer time is where I make the most, but I have nothing.
I have read tons of posts on this site, and I just have a few questions.
I know I need to close my checking account. What do I tell the bank as to why I want to close it? I am an idiot and got myself into a mess?
And then of course I am terrified of them calling my employer...
I know I need to close the account so I can pay my bills. My next payday is August 3rd so I have some time to figure this out, I am just terrified as to what is going to happen. Is there any way to keep them from calling me at work? I can deal with the home calls and such, but my goodness I don't want to get fired or get a bad rep because of my mistakes.
And has anyone used Langhorne that is happy with them? I filled out an online info thing of theirs today and they called, but I was at work and didn't get a chance to call them back. Do they require money before they start contacting the PDLs? And are they successful with most of the companies?
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!

YOu do not have to give your bank any reason for closing your account! Also, some people have changed their contact info with the PDL's before "defaulting" so that they avoid calling their employer. As for Langhorne, they require you to set up a savings account that you put money into soley for them. Once they receive their first payment(usually about 260) they notify the PDL's that you are working with them. But they also have you sign a power of attorney naming them as your poa....
