United Cash Loans called and told me that I now owed them in excess of $500 on a $300 loan which had paid save one last payment.

I immediately told them I knew they were illegal in Florida, that even if the WERE legal, they were in violation of Florida statutes with regards to interest rate, roll over or fee caps and that they were part of MTE Financial, using several dba's.

The young lady I spoke to just sat on the phone and after a minute, asked me what the difference is between now and my loan with them last year (which I paid in full.) I told her that knowledge is power! I asked her for the licensing # or audit # for practicing in the State and she couldn't answer me. I asked her why she couldn't put me on hold and ask someone...she did, then came back and told me that ALL managers had gone home. So, I asked for a copy of the "illegal" contract, debt validation Letter, and any other information they wanted to send me via snail mail so I could have more evidence against them, as I had already reported them to the AG. She said she would put the documents in the mail and hung up VERY QUIETLY.

We may be getting somewhere here...

shey, I'm cracking up here! I want you to be my new best friend! You got balls and I love it! Hmmm....wonder if you'll get your documentation in the mail. Gee, I don't think I would hold my breath. Oh. All the managers had gone home? Well, isn't that convenient? You know, I do believe you should email them and remind them to send those documents via USPS. You know, you don't want them to forget! Tell them your whole conversation and what was stated and tell them that you're awaiting the documentation. You will then have ANOTHER form of documentation, since this was a telephone call. Email it to them, shey. You'll have documentation of your telephone conversation and you'll also be "reminding" them not to forget about you, as you will be waiting by the mailbox! I love it!

No...they snuck a paper check through saying I authorized the payment and the bad part was, the bank would not reverse it because it was a paper check. I told them why the heck would I authorize for a paper check to go through when I was having their ACH transactions reversed??? I told them I NEVER authorized that transaction, but....

UCL never called, never offered a deal or anthing. They just took and the bad part was, I could not close my account until it was in the positive so I was constantly running up NSF fees. Finially got it taken care of though.

Sheyld - congrats on your victory! Doesn't it feel great!?!

I think Rt. 66 was my favorite to stand up to - after my last discussion with them, in which I just got louder and louder and LOUDER as I reiterated over and over the fact that I knew they were operating illegally, were not even located in this country, and that I had reported them to every possible government entity for investigation...they finally muttered "crazy lady" and hung up...never called back. LOL!

I don't like to play the crazy card too often, but sometimes it works. ;-)

Nothing like making these companies speachless for a change! When I talked to Route66, I did pretty much all the talking and then they kept asking for my husband (loan was in his name) and I informed them that they were dealing with me, the account was mine, and they were not talking to him and then I proceeded to tell them what I knew about them and not being scared, etc and then I hung up on them! Gotta love it! LOL
