I would go to another bank. It's too risky that they might have somehow linked the accounts in their system. Or, sometimes they will allow a company to debit an account with a contract and a ss#. So it's always best to go to another bank.

I did the same thing with my bank. I was going to go to a new bank, but they assured me (and then re-assured me, and then re-re-assured me) that these companies would be unable to get the new account information, and if they did it would constitute fraud on their account, and I would be reimbursed for any and all charges that would be assessed. So I went ahead and opened the new account at the same bank. So far, so good, but it hasn't been very long since I defaulted.
i only did it a few days ago, but i dont feel very comfortable.

I have defaulted on 7 loans in april, and so far only 2 have contacted me. I WONDER what they could be up to
Just for safety sake maybe i will change accounts again

Your welcome! I'm glad you have the confidence now to fight for what is right! These companies rip people off and scare them to death, over just a couple hundred dollars that they've already collected 4 times over. Sick!
Your new account at the same bank may be fine. I'm super paranoid of banks, just because I've been burned bad. So I always try to err on the side of caution. I would suggest that if you are at all worried, I would open an account at another bank, and keep just the minimum amount in the account at the first bank. After a few months, it's probably pretty safe that the pdl's are going to hit it. But there have been stories of pdl companies hitting accounts years after defualt, so it's never really 100% . . . .

why do you reccommend keeping the account open at the first bank if you think the pdls will eventually hit it
Isnt it safer just to use the new bank and stay clear of the bank that the pdls have the name of

Yeah, i think that would be safer. I said that in case you really liked that bank or something and wanted to keep an account there. Some people have really good banks and it's a shame they would have to go to a crappy bank just because of some payday loans.
But if you have no ties to this old bank, absolutly close the new account! I think it's always better to make a clean break from your bank when dealing with these pdl companies. Too many things can go wrong keeping accounts at the same bank. But that isn't to say that it will happen, just that the possibility can be greater . . . .

hi, welcome to the site. I would suggest that you not put your name other than your login name on your replies, questions, etc. They are creditors and collections agencies that come to this site in search of prey. Just a heads up.

kash, to be safe, take goudah's advice. You can keep the account at the bank, which is fine. However, for your own peace of mind and to be extra safe (as we've all been burned one way or another), go to another bank and open an account. Split your money between the two. I did that just on the advice of reading all the posts. I've got two bank accounts now. I just suck some money out of one and put it in the other. Just in case the pdl's "find" your account or whatever, you will not be drained dry. You will have your other bank account with money in it. Just call us all paranoid, if you like! But once you've been burned, you take extra steps to prevent it from happening again!

Yes we are paranoid, but we have good reason to be
