I received a charge on my checking account from usa benefits for 9.95 .I did not authorize this.I received an email from them about 3 weeks ago about receiving a free credit report from them and I emailed them back and told them I was not interested.
I think they got my checking account information from a payday loan company that I had used. How can I get my money back.My paycheck had not been deposited yet so I also got a 30 dollar fee from them charging my checking account.I emailed them again but have not received any response.I have never even logged into this site to register with them.
Thanks for your help ,It seems like every step I take forward,I take two backwards.

Mjessia,

Well first things first in your situation I would go right to your bank and fill out any paperwork you can about this company taking money out of your account without your authrization. Your next step is to call USA Benifits. The number is listed above in another posting. I read the membership agreement and realized in the first month of being billed you can receive a credit with them. I am unsure how they deal with people who have not noticed a few months in a row. I will tell you USA employee's are not very professional and can be very rude. Do not let them discourage you!!!! Your bank may credit each and every 9.95 debit or at least they will stop anymore from going through. Good luck!

I called usa benefits and they claim that I authorized them to deduct this amount from my account, but I know that I didn't. I am going to follow up with my bank and also report them to the bbb. Thank you to michele, who posted the number in her message.

Mjessia,

Like in my other entires I stated they will not offer the credit to you you will have to fight for it. They also will claim that you did authorized this transaction, which in your case you did not. But yes calling your bank since you allowed USA to charge your account for more than one month would be your best bet!

One more quick suggestion to all is check your bank statement evey month make sure you agree with what has gone in and out of your account. Also inquire if your bank offers online service. I am able to check my account everyday online and see what has posted to my account. In this day and age it is good to keep a close eye on your personal accounts!

GOOD LUCK ALL

I was also had for the $9.95 for the last 3-4 months. I thought it might be connected to my usafastcash payday loan which I got. but it isn't. I decided to look them up online, but I don't remember actually signing up for there services. The loan I had gotten from a solicitor in my e-mail. The 800 # which MzRegina2U has on her comment is actually listed on my bank statement. I was planning on calling to see what it is all about. Now I found all these people with complaints, now I know I'm right about it. Thank You All

I guess you can say the best advice for these people is stand strong. You demand what they demand from you money!!! I did receive my refund when stated to me over the phone. I also had to be a little rude to them. They are your classic bully!

I just called these people and they said they would not refund my money! I told them i would be reporting them to the BBB and they still did not refund me. Be prepared to have that $9.95 charge stick and it will continue to come out of your bank if you don't call to cancel. I've learned my lesson for sure, no more payday loans!!

I called back and told them that i had read their membership agreement and they could refund me even though the girl i first talked to said they couldn't and they said i would get a refund in 3-5 business days! I would still like to report them to the BBB but I cant find them! *remeber to get a confirmation number and the name of the person you spoke to when you call for your refund*

Andrea,

HA I found them. First of all I decided to find them by going through each state on the BBB website. Found them in Flordia. Unless it is a different place they are found under the name USA Benefits Group. I was looking for them only under the name USA Benefits and the BBB still gave me this search result. May not be them, but BBB does say they do not have any sort of report or complaint on this company. Worth checking into. Let me know the outcome!

MaddinNY,

These people love to fight believe that. They fought with me until I got so frustrated and hung. That is when I did my research and found their membership agreement. You tell them you have read their memebership argreement and it states this: At the end of the thirty-day trial period, we will debit your checking account in the amount of $9.95. The cost of retaining membership is $9.95 per month. You may cancel your service at any time by contacting our Member Services Department. If for any reason you wish to cancel during the first 30 days after your checking account is debited, you may do so and receive a full refund of the monthly membership fee.

It will work stand strong and do not allow these jerks to bull you around. Remember they are human not big scary monsters. They will not win I promise!!!

I too got a charge for $9.95 from Usa Benefits along with overdraft fees that I never authorized. I called them and they refuse to give me a refund. They say something about a postcard? I never even got a payday loan. They won't tell me how they got my bank info, but they tell me that they won't refund me. I will file a dispute at the bank, but will it do me any good? And why would the bank pay it, without my authorization? Any thoughts?

Jessica,

You will have to deal with your bank about he overdraft fee, but call USA Benefits back and read them the memebership agreement:
At the end of the thirty-day trial period, we will debit your checking account in the amount of $9.95. The cost of retaining membership is $9.95 per month. You may cancel your service at any time by contacting our Member Services Department. If for any reason you wish to cancel during the first 30 days after your checking account is debited, you may do so and receive a full refund of the monthly membership fee.
They will refund the 9.95 deducted from your account I would also however go to your bank and fill out some sort of paperwork to stop them from debiting ever again!

I read them the membership agreement, and they said they did not know where I got it from, but it wasn't theirs. I quoted it in my complaint to the BBB

The USA Benefits in FL is different. They are an insurance company, not the company we are all complaining about. The address of the one who is scamming everyone is 1 millennium Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401. This is the address on their website and the address they gave me over the phone. Their website is usagoldcard.com.

I too got hit with a $9.95 debit to my bank account, on 10/18/05, which also got overdrawn. I check my account every day, so right away I knew something was wrong and immediately called my bank who got me in touch with USA Benefits ... same story as those posted here: the Jerks at USA Benefits said that I had applied for a payday loan, "signed up" for some 30-day free-trial thing and thereafter charged a monthly fee, etc etc. (Huh? Haven't they ever heard of deceptive business practices and its legal consequences??) I indeed got a loan online from another company USFashCash but never knowingly signed up for anything with USA Benefits. I immediately filed a claim through my bank for an unauthorized withdrawal and just got the money credited back today, 10/22/05. I'm still worried that USA Benefits will repeat this bull**** every month although they assured me that my "membership" was cancelled. Otherwise I will definitely escalate the matter with the Federal Trade Commission. Let's keep the pressure on.

I reported them also, but never received a refund.I changed my bank account number,so they wont be able to get me again.I am now going to make payments to my payday loan people by money order.I didnt like the idea of my checking account information being out there for anyone to use, like USA benfits. When you give out your personal information online,it is suppose to be secure, all of these payday lenders claim that they did not give them our information,if not how did they get it.I would suggest to anyone who has been scamed by these people to consider calling your bank and having your account changed,I did it over the phone, and now I dont have to worry about surprises  coming out of my account months down the road.

sa,

One of our forum friends said this did not work for her. Unfortionatly in the world of bill collecting you never speak the the same person twice and more unfortionatly the person you speak with has complete control over what they will do for you even if it is wrong. Please advise if you tell them that you have read their membership agreement they should issue you a credit. This is what the agreement says

Good luck I hope it works for you! If not go to your bank and express to them that USA has frauduently taken money from your account. Your bank should credit the transaction and stop any more from processing through. If you go with this approach make sure you call USA and tell them to cancel your account!

Good luck!

Hi SA

Welcome to the forums.

To stop the unauthorized debits from your accounts, you can contact your bank and get in touch with the ACH department. Request them to put a stop payment on all the unauthorized debits.

Later, the lenders will contact you for this debt. Then you can ask them to validate the debt before you agree to any payment terms.

Regards
Roxette

I like most people on the posts here, knew nothing of my "enrollment" to this company, till I was over drawn in my checking account. I called my bank and they gave me the telephone number, they would not do a stop payment without charging me $28, however, I did call the 800 number for USA BENEFITS and demanded that they refund the money they withdrew from my account, as I authorized no such payments, they kept telling me that it is non-refundable, so I told them I would be contacting my lawyer, well that got me to a supervisor, that promptly told me all the payments would be refunded! So stand your ground. I then called my bank back, they can only return one of the overdraft fee's which is understandable. Good luck, I know I have now learned a valuable lesson about the internet!!!!

From what Im understanding,USa benefits is getting our information from a payday loan company, that we either applied for or received. The companies that I took payday loans out at said that they knew nothing about them, and one even asked me to email the information so they could look into it,Maybe it is someone on the inside selling them our information.

As this is something of ameriloan as payday loan, as the $9.95 was deducted out of my checking account for credit report, but never see anything at all in e-mail and no sign in web either, as while on payday loan a offer came up at end of page and i never sumit it until I learned a $9.95 charge a month, as I stop there and never approved it as I didn't click on sumit button, and how is that being done without my approval ? best of all to cancel it.
