I received a charge on my checking account from usa benefits for 9.95 .I did not authorize this.I received an email from them about 3 weeks ago about receiving a free credit report from them and I emailed them back and told them I was not interested.
I think they got my checking account information from a payday loan company that I had used. How can I get my money back.My paycheck had not been deposited yet so I also got a 30 dollar fee from them charging my checking account.I emailed them again but have not received any response.I have never even logged into this site to register with them.
Thanks for your help ,It seems like every step I take forward,I take two backwards.

Hi Stephen

USA Benefits has been regularly doing unauthorized debits on most of the consumer's checking accounts. Ask your bank to change your account number so that you can prevent this fraudulent activity.

You should also consult your attorney and file a case against them on charges of fraudulent activity in your checking account without consent.

I called the 800 number (800.809.5986) at 2pm on a Tuesday, and got an immediate answer. I spoke with "Darlene" at extension #2071, and she was very pleasant and confirmed that she would cancel the monthly charge immediately, and provided a confirmation number.

I'll keep the forum updated. Hopefully, this is the end of the situation. Good luck to everyone else!

They "screwed" me too. They are all attached to Payday loan services. If you do not read the fine...and I mean really fine..print, which must of us don't, they will put you in a membership that will debit 9.95 a month until you cancel. Call 800-809-5986 as soon as possible to cancel the account and make sure you get a conformation number. Forget about the refund, you will not get one. They have you "legally" signing and accepting the service so the payment for your first month is due at the end of the month. Even though you didn't know about them until they debit the 9.95, they have the contract signed by you which makes you "responsible". What a con, I wish there was some legal way to screw them, but it's our fault for not reading the full contract.
-Good Luck All

 I just figured out that these people were debiting my account as well. I hadn't even noticed for 3 months! What a con! I guess all I can do is jump up and down scream a little bit and move on, its not like I'll ever see the 30 bucks again!

Just looked at my bank statement and saw the charges. but I have not applied nor received a payday loan in the last 4 months. The first charge is listed on my october statement and a second charge for november resulted in an overdraft fee. I don't remember signing up for any of this. This can't be legal.

I also noticed a monthly debit on my most recent bank statement...apparently it's been going on since August. I called the 800 number and received an immediately cancellation, very pleasantly, although I refused to give them my social security number and that proved to be a bit of a tug-of-war. All in all, the cancellation of the monthly debit was easy and not altogether unpleasant. Thank you all for your tips!

I have never signed up for a payday loan in my life nor have I used any credit report systems. I recieved a charge of 9.95 as well. I called and had the account canceled but they still haven't given my money back. They basically stole the money from me. I have NEVER, EVER signed up for anything that has to do with a credit report or payday loan service, (I'm 18 ^_^)

You know I noticed this about 8 months ago on my bank statement. Since then I have closed that account and reopened and about 2 months later they were back on debiting my account. Do you think that a Class Action Lawsuit is in order? Please advise because I would love to get in on something like that.

Larry,

You should definitely consider some legal actions towards these unauthorized debits. You will have to pull attention of your lawyer otherwise there won't be any possible end of it. After all, it's your hard earned money and you just can't give it to such scammers.

I'm mortified to see that so many people have been scammed by these guys. I'm on hold right now with USA benefits. I've done the whole payday loan thing too... too bad that people in need of temporary help have to go through this nonsense. I'll post again with the results of my phone call.

I have been charged three times for USA Benefits from October to December... I'm happy to say that I called them and was able to get a FULL refund of my money, which they stated would take 3-5 business days. I talked to BEN at EXTENSION 2097 EMPLOYEE NUMBER 2411. I think the key is that I didn't let Ben get a word in edgewise - I said that the only resolution I was willing to accept was a full refund, and if he could not produce those results then I needed to speak with a person who could. PERIOD!!! Call them, be firm, hell get rude if you have to - BUT GET YOUR MONEY BACK. I informed Ben that hundreds of people were being scammed out of their money and I told him about all of you who have posted here. DON'T LET THESE GUYS GET AWAY WITH CORPORATE ROBBERY.

I will post again to confirm that they have actually refunded everything that was promised. GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS!

Call 800-809-5986
Ask for Ben, Extension 2097 Employee Number 2411

Here's what you say (or something close to it...) just fill in the (x) blanks.

I did not sign up for any credit report service with USA Benefits. My (x) account has been debited for 9.95 for (x) months. If there was an offer from USA Benefits within a payday loan service - it was not clearly marked and this is fraud. There are hundreds of people who have been scammed by USA Benefits and I can provide proof. I want a full refund of all the debits that were charged to my account and I will accept no less. If you cannot do this, transfer me to someone who can.

If you get transferred to someone else - say it all over again. I'm telling you all - these people have the power to refund the charges. DON'T LET THESE CORPORATE ROBBERS LIE TO YOU. Get your money back today.

Also - you'll hold for a long time when you call. Don't get discouraged. Stay on hold. It's worth it when you show them you're not going to be bamboozled.

Oh - and I read another posting where someone did not want to give out their social security number to these guys. In that case tell them the last four digits and nothing more.

Good luck,

Celia

Talk to your bank and they will verify each of the debits made by USA Benefits. If the company fails to respond to the bank, you will have your money credited back to your account.

Also call the number given above your post. You should place a dispute with the company as well.

I did not authorize your company to take $9.95 fee from my account. In doing this your company cost me an overdraft fee of $38. I want this membership cancelled the $9.95 plus $38 refunded to my account. i will be closing this account and will report your company to the BBB if this is not done. There was no confirmation email saying that this money would be taken from my account. My email address is randy.sonja.adams.adelphia.net. I would like a response regarding this message. Thank you, Sonja Adams..

Hi Sonja Adams

You are mistaken in locating the company here. Read this thread once again and you will come to know about many others having these unauthorized debits from USA Benefits. We are discussing about them and sharing the experiences in this page.

It will be helpful if you can send your request to the mailing address of USA Benefits. You will have a documented proof of this cancellation request.

My husband and I are representatives for a group association in Texas, and have received several phone calls from victims of the USA Benefits scam. We have a website with information about our health benefit plans, and the name is similar. So, people are searching for USA Benefits and landing on our site and think we are connected with this unethical company.

Anyway, we want to thank you for this forum ...we found you, and are now able to give out the address and phone number of USA Benefits, based on your forum and the accurate information you've been able to post here.

If we uncover any helpful information, we will be sure to post it here. Good luck to all of you who have been unknowingly victimized. We hope you get satisfaction!

These people ARE CRAZY!! They have been taking 9.95 out of our checking account for 3 months. When my husband calls they give him the run around wanting him to provide is SSN and he wont. Then he tell them they better stop taking out 9.95 and they hung up on him. We sent a fax to cancel and get a refund and then we get a message from Jackqueline Joseph asking him to call that she cannot cancel per fax. We have no idea how they got our information. They are very hard people to deal with. Also they must have caller id because when my husband called they called right back and he did not even leave his number. Crazy PEOPLE over their.

Dawnie,

Why don't you talk to your bank? They might help you solve this problem. You can stop unauthorized debits by simply filling out one form with your bank.

Definitely contact USA Benefits and see what they recommend to cancel the contact. Do keep us update on what is going on.

Bryan we have contacted the company and they keep giving us the run around. We have faxed and faxed and they will not stop taking it out. If I go to the bank they are going to charge me 30.00 to get this stopped.

Dawnie,

It seems that your bank has certain policies that ask for charges to stop such withdrawals. There is nothing wrong in accepting it because this $30 can save lot of money in future.

However, if you are not ready to pay $30 for this purpose, consider closing this account, if possible. Do let us know if you need any more info.

Looks like I fall into everyones shoes here. I just got a letter from my bank stating I had an overdraft, which I knew fully well that I did not use the account because we are in the process of closing it out due to moving. USA was unable to get any money due to no funds but unfortunately, we were charged nsf fees. I think we should all band together and start a class action suit against them. We may not get monetary funds from them, but atleast maybe we can get them shut down and put out of business period, and prevent others from becoming victims of this fraudulant company. I for one, do not like knowing that someone out there has all of my personal information to do with what they please. My e-mail address for anyone who would like to contact me and talk about this awful mess. THANKS for listening!!! I just needed to vent because this really P***** me off. I tend to follow through with what I say and I will get these suckers back some how!!!!
