I received a charge on my checking account from usa benefits for 9.95 .I did not authorize this.I received an email from them about 3 weeks ago about receiving a free credit report from them and I emailed them back and told them I was not interested.
I think they got my checking account information from a payday loan company that I had used. How can I get my money back.My paycheck had not been deposited yet so I also got a 30 dollar fee from them charging my checking account.I emailed them again but have not received any response.I have never even logged into this site to register with them.
Thanks for your help ,It seems like every step I take forward,I take two backwards.

My name is alison, I was appling for a payday loan and all of a sudden in the next two days I was debited 149.00 and I said to myself why would I pay 149.00 dollars when I was looking for a payday loan?
:( this made me very angry, they made my account go into the negitives and is costing me alot of money

Yeah, I just got charged the same thing and it overdrafted my account. So, I contacted my bank and the representative gave me USA Benefits' telephone, company ID, and trace number. So, I called USA Benefits and the representative tried to tell me that the $19.95 was non-refundable. I told that was some bullshit because I did not authorize the company to sign me up for a free credit report or to deduct any money from account. He, then, tried to tell me that when I applied for one of those payday loans that I accepted free offers that included the free credit report bullshit. I told him that apparently the website throws your information into a default to make it seem like I accepted and I didn't. So, I asked for a manager, Kyle Melssburg (800-634-6730). He never came to the phone but when the rep came back to the phone all of sudden my $19.95 will be refunded into my account and that it will be 8 business days. I told him bullshit! It's going to be in there before. I was informed to call my bank tomorrow and file a claim.

P.S. I suggest everyone to be careful when applying for those payday loans. Also, if you still have your paperwork or contract with your payday loan call them and launch a complaint. I found out which payday loan company helped USA Benefits take my money from 8/27/07.

I got charged 19.95 from usa benefits.they told me that they got my info from the website i applied to get a loan from. And because of my error of not clicking something i have to take the loss of a non refundable 19.95. And i think this is so funny how i look for their website and i find all these things about the company being a rip off. All i did was apply for a loan on a website i do not remember to get cash to pay off bills so why would i want to get some kind of loan to buy things from thei website.

I had noticed an overdrawn charge on my checking account for 32.00 for USA benifits, I didn't know what this transaction was so i went back in history on my account and fouund 2 9.95 charges that had been succesful, I call my bank and they told me i had to call USA benefits and talked to them, i called them and they wouldn't talk to me, because my husbands name was on the USA benefit account even thou my name was on the checking account they messed up,he told me i had to of authorized the account by clicking something and told us that it was for credit checks, idenity theft that they could monitor, (they need to monitor their company), He told me to call back at a later date so my husband could speak with them, i told him no to hang on and i called 3 way, and he told my husband he had to tell him he didn't autorize this and didn't want to do anything, i told him no that i wanted this canceled and i wanted my money back in my checking account, he put us through to his supervisor, she done this same speech the guy did, we told her we didn't need credit checks so why did we need to pay 9.95 a month, and told her my bank found 3 charges and the supervisor had different dates than my bank, here's the kicker guys....the supervisor came back and told me that they had deduted 12 months from us and she could only give us back 10 months..we agreed to that to keep the paperwork down..so please recheck and make sure you don't have more than 3 charges, i don't know how they did it but they did it, it's all taken care of now and we are getting our money back, but i also mentioned the Attorney General in Pa and the BBB to her. Don't let these people by with taken your hard earned money for their pleasure.

I too was ripped off by them. the rep was trying to tell me all the different benefits i get for 19.95 a month. she gave me a confirmation number stating that the account has been cancelled, let's see if it really was or not! the rep was VERY bitchy to me on the phone too. i have 50 dollars in overdraft fees, and my bank didnt even pay them......they wont give it back to me though. it is bull! good luck to everyone else though!![/font]

Hey all! I've just received the card and the letter in the mail. There was a charge on my account for $19.95 and I had no idea where it came from. When I got the letter in the mail I figured it out it was from them. I also tried going to their website, but of course, there's no website. I was charged an overdraft fee on my account and this is pissing me off because when I applied for a loan, they did not say there would be a charge. I'm surprised at how many people get scammed by these "companies". Please be more aware of what you sign up for online. I will never do this again. I'm calling my bank tomorrow.

Glad you cought it when you did xxeternityxx, but I would go to your bank in person and put all that you have to say in writing and make your bank sign it while you are there and get a copy. As you can see if you read many of the post here concerning banks, that their banks donkt get it right or donkt care enough to stop your situation from happening after someone just calls them and then they are stuck with hundreds of dollars in overdrafts and then that is just the start of their problems. GO IN PERSON.

thanks,
Luke

I called the number 1-800-809-5986 and cancelled, because they will continue to withdraw the $19.95 from your account. I am pissed that they got away with $40 from me, but there is really nothing you can do since it was offered through a payday loan advance application. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that the fee is non refundable which I think is BS! I am mad and venting right now, but call the above number to cancel your account or they will continue to withdraw from your bank account. They are so uncaring for their so called customers.

did not inquire about any thing on the internet, and oh yes , I DID INQUIRE about a payday loan, they ask for your information , you put all the info in icluding your social security and check account info, they tell you no, however while you are inquiring about the loan they have links to their site. If you donot check the box it automatically does for you which means you approved them to pay their set up fees. You have given them permission to withdrawl the funds . Without your knowing. USA Benifits and USA loans withdrew $149.00 and $19.95 were taken out of my account without my permission.I contacted my Bank notified them of this closed my account never to ever inquire about anything online again, I learned my lesson trust no one with anything.

Of all the crapiest things to do to a person on Christmas. There seems to be enough complaints out there to start some kind a class action suit against this company. Only wish I knew how to go about it. Just think of how many other 9.95 people are out there and how many 169.90 people are out there, that's alot of money!

today is dec 10, 2007. i got up this a.m. to check that balance on my debt card and it was like $20 less then what i thought it was.....i had the automated system give me a transaction by transaction "report" and there it was.......$19.95 to USA Benefits. WTF!

i called them and they gave me a "refund transaction number" and said it would be the 18th before they could refund it!

so what you apply for something on-line and they say invalid acct number (on your debt card), watch out for unauthorized transactions.........and they got all my "personal info".

After numerous non approvals by me to allow USA BENEFITS to debit my checking account, I decided to look them up on the internet and this was the only site I came accross that actually was a real site.
I have been hit by them many times, even after having my well known named banking institution put a big red flag up on my account to stop any transactions from being completed by USA BENEFITS. It has taken me many months of heartache and time to finally go through one whole month without finding yet another debit to my account. Now they got even more sneaky, they go through this process of now of debiting my account with different denominations, 9.95, 19.95, 29.95 and as high as 49.95 !!!!! I'm on a fixed income and all the headache of waiting for those forms to come in the mail and then you have to sign and send back to the bank. Not to mention all the fees that go with it!!!!! It got as high as 135.00 for non sufficient funds because USA BENEFITS debiting my account without my knowledge or consent. Guess what??? It happened again today. I'M SO MAD AND FRUSTRATED TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!! EVEN WHEN I TRY TO CONTACT USA BENEFITS, THEY TELL ME IF I CAN'T GIVE THEM AN ACCOUNT NUMBER THAT I HAVE WITH THEM THEN THEY CAN'T CREDIT BACK MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I had to get this off my chest... and I hope someone out there sees my email and reads it....
Take care all of you and the pain and uphill climb to get your bank accounts back on track..
P.s. Did you know that when I apply for credit, all the NSF's show up? Who wants to lend to a person with multiple nsf fees on there primary checking account???????
Take care all of you.

This one is called Benefits USA with listing as Reno, but phone says it is Eastern time for calling. There is message at end to leave message, but then says it's message box is full.

You're not getting your 9.95 back. you inadvertently pre-authorized that transaction through your agreement with the Payday loan company to become their member. HOWEVER, most banks will sympathize with your situation, and usually can refund the NFS fees. if you can ever get ahold of one of their company reps via phone again, just tell them to cancel any continued subscription of their membership as you have not utilized, nor plan to use any of their offerings in the foreseeable future. $10 is a SMALL price to pay for fine print nonsense. 40, not so much. just hope these guys aren't among those ACH scammer companies. you usually have to have incurred a fairly large loss for any law enforcement (AKA FBI) to do anything more than hear your grievance and note it.

Hey everyone out there I just wanted to say that I have had the same problem as all of you. I received a debit from my account for 19.95 from USA benefits. I immediately called them and they kept telling me I authorized the debit. After going back and forth with them I finally asked for a supervisor. The CSR then get back on the phone and gives me a cancellation# telling me they will give me a refund. She then transferred my call to another dept where the did a conference call with my bank and the money was back in my acct within 72 hours. The number is 800-809-5986. I would suggest once you receive your refund to get your acct info changed.

does ANYONE have a web address or a mailing address for these rip off artists or not? I see several people have asked for it but I don't see where anyone has actually provided the information. While the support group is nice I'd rather have hard information that will enable me to file complaints with federal, state and local agencies.
