I have been reading posts for acople of days and joined. I am in so far over my head I can not sleep or eat. Most of my paycheck is going toward pdls. On top of that I am mad at myself for getting into this mess. I so want to put and end to this but have no idea how to begin and much of what you are talking about is new to me. I have been researching T&C and Langhorn but am not sure if it would be better to go through a company or work on this myself. I am afraid if they start calling my work I will loose my job and I do not want to have to explain any of this to my boss. My pdls are internet companies and I live in KY. Any advice would be a blessing.

suzi, go to the BBB at www.bbb.org and file. Go to the FTC at www.ftc.gov and file. Then go to the Kentucky AG at ag.ky.gov. Once at ag.ky.gov, go to consumer protection at the top, then you can file a complaint (download the complaint form).

Will do. The more I type the easier it gets.... How seriously are these agencies taking these complaints? Do not misunderstand I will file..I think the more people that do the better the chances of action against these PDL's. I was just wondering where the agencies were with this.

Before you write all of those letters, jsut show the lender what you will be sendiong out if they don;t go away. They don;t want that trash over 1 little loans with you. They will go away. That's what i did. I sent them a copy of what i intended to send to my ftc and ag and the secret serviuce of they debitted my account again. Out of 10 or 11 of them, nobody wanted any part of it. They all went away.

Be careful doing anything like that - If you are not careful then you could be accused of extortion.

Complaints are not a barganing tool. They should be filed no matter what the outcome is. They are not something to threaten. That is extortion when you say if you don't do this then I will turn you in. Don't get into illegal activity like that, you are setting yourself up for a much bigger headache.

suzi, do not take niniDC's "advice" as that. You know your situation and what state you reside in and how pdl's are handled. The BBB will be the first to contact the pdl on your behalf. They have a certain amount of time to respond to the BBB. Once they do, the BBB will let you know. The FTC, you'll get a "confirmation" that they received your complaint. You probably won't get a whole lot more than that, but please, take my word for it. They are paying attention and taking action. Your AG is going to take longer. I was getting discouraged. Then I got responses from the AG on EVERY SINGLE PDL. They are contacting them. I was thrilled! The AG takes longer because they reveiw EVERY complaint. Do not get discouraged. It takes a while, but you will hear something. I promise.

Thank you everyone for stepping in and deflecting advice that appears to be incorect and/or illegal. Fortunately for me I have read enough posts to know who is doing the research and who is really here to help. Situations like this can be uncomfortable and enough without adding advice to extort and act illegally. I admire the responses of the moderators and others, as it is not always easy to take the high road. Thanks for all the research and factual information you all do for us.

You are so not going to believe this...actually I think you all will....I was looking at my account (the one I made arrangements with the bank to close after my IRS payment has cleared) anyway..I had a PDL show up deposited on 6/28 and I DID NOT ASK FOR IT...and they have debited my account for the 90 dollar fee...I am sooooooo upset and want to cry. This scares me. I have no control. I know I need to close the account but I can not afford to miss the IRS payment or they will default me. I already notified them of the change but that can not take place until the next payment. UGH!!!! I am not so worried about the other stuff, I am just upset about this. I feel violated in a way and I feel stupid for letting this happen to me. I should know better if nothing else by the nature of my job I should have known NEVER to give my account information to anyone!!!! Now what do I do..am I resposnible for this too... I tried to call the number on my statement and got a voice mail. It is Pay Day Cash Link. The sad part is I never noticed it until today and they have debited my account twice. UGH!!!! Will this NEVER end???

Wait - Suzi - You said you never "applied" for this pdl, right?

So go to the bank and dispute those charges asap! This company has nothing with your signature on it. The kind of pdl company that just magically deposits money into your account is the worst kind. Please dispute this with your bank asap. The bank will reverse it, as the company cannot prove you gave them authorization, since you never did.

An they debited twice last pay period... I do not get this. Am I loosing my mind...Is this what they do? Do I have a leg to stand on ti dispute this with the Bank. PS. The bank lady was really really nice and felt bad for me.

Don't be upset. (Easier said than done, I know.) Go to your bank ASAP. Or at least call the woman who helped you when you went in last time. Tell her the situation. If you act quickly, you can more than likely get that credit reversed back to the stupid unauthorized pdl and also the debits reversed. Please act quickly on it. If you can't leave work, call her and tell her to look at your account and for her to send a dispute in and reverse it off. I'm sooooo sorry. This does happen a lot. That's why one of the first things we try to do, if possible, is get bank accounts closed. These pdl's are ruthless and they're thieves. Please, suzi, if you can't leave work, call your lady at the bank and tell her to look it up. Ask her to please get it taken care of. Try that and let me know what's going on!

Has anyone found an address for Lazer Lending...I have tried to call but can not get a person. I have left messages but no return call. I even told them I wanted to pay them and take out another loan..and they still did not call me back. I know I am being paranoid but I almost feel like they know what I am up to... I guess I can wait for them to call me once they figuered out my account is closed. I just do not want them to do a wage assignment. I can not face that at work.

I at least found this regarding Laser Lending on the site search. Hopefully this can at least be a "starting" point! Here is what I found:

The company originally is called DJAT Marketing but when you are electronically debited from your account they go under lazer lending and the number is extremely hard to find. Luckily I wrote it down the first time I used them. The number is 1-866-733-1291

Well that went well..... I again called the number Cannr had (which is the one I have been calling) and got put on hold for awhile...and asked for the mailing address. The girl asked what for and I said I just needed it for correspondence, she refused to give it to me. She wanted my name to look up my account first. I said I just needed the address, also tried telling her I wanted to pay them off...she still refused. Should I have just told her what I was doing. I was trying to avoid letting her know what I was up to. Guess I am being paranoid..?? This really sucks. So far things have not been that bad. I can feel it getting ready to roll...and it is really scary. Now I remember why I do not like roller coaster rides.

I've had that same experience before trying to get an address. They want your name first to look your account info up. When I told the lady that any legitimate business would have no problem giving out a mailing address, she told me that they don't for "security" reasons. Um, yeah, they don't want a bunch of angry people showing up to beat their a**es!

At this rate I would like to be the one to show up and beat their A##es. She soooo pissed me off. I have googled everything I could and have searched this site and no address...not even a web site to go by. I could really kick myself for not having this information. Maybe I will call back tomorrow and ask for an account balance and then ask who my loan is with...if she will even tell me. There are so many horror stories about wage assigmnets. I want to keep this company from doing this. And it would be hard to explain to the human resources area what is going on without being able to tell them the name of the company.

suzi, excuse my language, but screw them. If they can not give out a physical address when a person calls, they are basically holding up a big giant sign that says ILLEGAL. They are hiding. Don't try to call them again. They will contact you eventually either by email or USPS. Probably email. They are sooo wrong. I called a pdl once and was given the same crap. Who are you? Why are you calling? What is your social security number? I told them all I wanted was a mailing address to send them some money. More questions from them. Finally I told them that they weren't going to get any money and hung up. Never tried calling them again. Screw them if they can't give you an address. Let them ride. They'll crawl out of the woodwork again to harrass you. However, document your telephone call. Document what was said, etc. Always do this when using the telephone with the pdl's. No matter how minor.

I have no problem not contacting them again. They can find me now. Well...off to the post office to see what is in my new po box I rented for this... Can't wait

Sorry, suzi! If I'm coming off as being a "hard a$$" today, I apologize! I think today is just a day of "enough of this crap"! LOL! But, honestly, if the morons can not give an address, they can stick it. When they pulled it with me, I made sure I included it with my complaints. I informed the agencies that I was REFUSED a physical address when inquiring about one. Big red flag. Mail that stuff out, honey! Get them! :D

Do not apologize, I love it!!!! It is rather inspirational. Especially when I have been reading your threads all day and know what has been going on...I believe I would ha slit my wrists by now.. :} Or at least lost what is left of my mind... :} And trust me I can not afford that.

Thanks, suzi! Oh, the wonderful world of pdl's! Lord have mercy on us all! Today was not a wonderful day! But, it's a learning experience for others. What the hell. I chalk it up to "Okay, I was a retard and I'm learning my lesson the hard way." LOL! But if any of my experience can help someone else, then something good has come out of it. And, I didn't have to slit my wrists on the bank steps today. We'll see about tomorrow! You know I'll be on the computer before my eyes are open in the morning looking at the stupid account! Oh, for the love of God! :D

I made an appointment with the HR for tomorrow to give her my letters and to change my direct deposit. I hope she does not ask too many questions. The more I get into this, the more real it becomes the scarier it gets. I have read so many posts lately dealing with wage assignments and phone call it is making me very unsure about this.

Also... Cannr

How do I calculate the legal finance charge. Which number do I use under the KY Law - Loan Terms. I know I have overpaid them all..I just need to know the finance charge so I can calculate out how much I have overpaid. I want to be sure all my letters are correct when I turn them over to the HR.

suzi, if your HR asks questions, all you have to tell them is that there were fraudulent charges on your account. Period. End of discussion. None of their business. About the "finance charge" - the maximum state allowed amount is $17.65 per $100 borrowed.
$100 - $117.65
$200 - $235.30
$300 - $352.95

Not to beat a dead horse...The bank did a dispute on my loan that I got but did not take out..No matter what I am not going to continue to pay on it..even if they can't hep me. It was for 300 and they have already debited 270 from my account for it. They can kiss my A$$ for the rest. Besides I already had a loan with that company and overpaid...significantly..I almost feel like I should atleast pay the legal ammount because I spent the money but like I said..I have paid them alot of money..way more than what I owe.

suzi, do not feel bad about this. Apparently, they put the funds in your bank without your authorization (they like to do this). Then they claim that you had 24/48 hours to let them know you didn't want it, blah, blah. By the time you figure out who gave it to you, the time limit is up! They've already debited $270.00 out. Plus the fact that they are illegal. I do believe they can live without the other $30.00. I feel confident that you won't lose any sleep over that $30.00! Hell, we can all pool our money together and mail them $30.00! LOL!

I was gone last week and did my letters before I left..I was so ill. When I calcualted what I borrowed, what I owed according to KY Laws and what I have paid I was wishing for a tall building with a slippery ledge, a blind fold, a stiff drink and a cigarette. I was soooo happy they still serve alcohol on airplanes unforunately you can't smoke. I overpaid my pdl's by 2316.67. In a way I was relieved it was not more. But I was still ill. I thank whatever divine intervention lead me to you all and especially thank Cannr for holding my hand more than one should have to because it could have be waaaaay worse.

PS - Cannr - I overpaid the unauthorized PDL too!!! THEY OWE ME!!! Too bad I will never see it.

suzi, my KY friend..... You never, never know. You might actually see a refund. Can't promise it. But I can give you a stiff drink and a cigarette! :D You are doing so good. And, I was kind of sick when I realized how much money my pdl's got that they shouldn't have. It actually made my stomach turn. And I wondered why I didn't have any money. Hmmm....gee, can't figure it out. suzie, they're all illegal. However, some of mine did give me refunds. I know the majority won't, but wouldn't it be a nice "surprise" to get at least one? Hell, just get them off your a$$ would be good enough! And, my hand is still here for you to hold! I'll take the drink and cigarette, too!

Hey..I just realized..this monday will be my first pay day that I get to keep all of my check and not loose 75% to IPDL's. And I would settle for them getting out of my life and off my a$$. And since I am getting my entire pay check for the first time in months...I would certainly buy that drink and cigarette...at least no more ledge walking for now :}

broweyedgirl - CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT.
I just joined here last week, and I closed my account. I got my paycheck going to the new account, and I can tell you first-hand - what a feeling it was to see money in my account on payday and no deductions. I have 11 ipdls, and they are calling, and sending letters and I'm just laughing! I am working on all my letters, don't answer my phone if a number I don't recognize is on the ID, and it FEELS GOOD! Thanks to the folks on this site, I am no longer being drained. It's a bit of a psin waiting for new checks to come, and not having a new ATM card yet, but it is well worth it. Listen to these guys, and follow their advice. They know what they are doing - and I am just amazed at the number of people who have posted, and the number is growing. You are not alone. You are a victim with the rest of us. Just closing your bank account will give you so much relief, and a new sense of purpose. JUST DO IT.

jazz, suzi is way ahead of the game! :D
suzi, you are going to TRIP OUT when you get your check on Monday! I swear, I still remember my first paycheck I got in my new account. I got up, checked my account, the direct deposit was there, and there were NO DEBITS! I started crying. I swear to you, I did. I hadn't had a full paycheck in soooo long. It was such a sad/wonderful feeling all at the same time. I was so excited about having my whole check, but at the same time I was so sad about the fact that I had been sucked dry for so long. You've GOT to post on Monday and tell me EVERY detail about how you feel! I will be soooooooo thinking of you on Monday! :D

I just received an e-mail from my bank...My paycheck is in my account...all of it...OMG...I can not believe it...It has been soooo long. :D Now, I know this is only the first and there is a possibility of issues (especially since I had to stay with the same bank) but I am going to live in the moment for awhile.... I have told the people who work in my office with me to tell anyone they do not know that I do not work here any more... I've decieded this may have a good side, maybe this will help get rid of all the sales people who call me to sell me stuff. Anyway..thank you all fer getting me this far.

P.S. Yes Anthony, I got everything you suggested in writing too.. :D
