OK...the other latter I got from the AG was in response to GFSIL.

GFS responded that I had asked them to stop debiting my account and wanted to make other payments arrangements...this was before I was here and knew what I know now....GFS went on to say I had a preivious loan with them which I paid off with no questions...and that the loan was done over the phone and I knew full well I was accepting the English Law to govern the loan. When I defaulted they continued to try to collect the monies owed them. Now because they want to take care of all their customers and they are committed to resolving this matter amicably they welcome the opportunity to have me contact them as they are confident they can satisfy all parties.

The AG office only responded that I should please take note that even though I defaulted...they are willing to work with me.

Comments?

I would stick to my guns about keeping all correspondence in writing - ask them to present you with the first offer so you can counter. BUT if you have paid the principle and then some like most of us have I would only counter with a PIF to close the account and stipulate you want the account closed down for any other future loan activity as well. I think that sends the statement (especially to the AG) that you have learned from the poor choices of the past and are never going to get in this mess again. I would also cc the AG on all of you communication. (even if you don't send it the lender gets the message)

After spending what seems a lifetime dealing all alone with payday hell it is just such a rush to find a place where no one judges you and you can share ideas in the open because we have all been there and done that. Some of our lenders maybe different but we are going through this thing together. Hang in there.

morningstarr, are you going to contact the pdl???? I mean, you know as soon as you contact them, they're going to ask you for an outrageous amount of money. I can already see that. They will consider that their wonderful way of settling this "problem".

Okay, if you're up for the email! Go for it! But you've GOT to post if you get a response! They'll tell you to money gram them $8,000 in order to consider your account paid in full! Remember, my wonderful "contact back with them" was to money gram another $100 to be considered paid in full after I had already overpaid by $200! That's what they considered working with me! Hello! Does the word "illegal" mean anything to them? No. Do they get the hint that they're not even supposed to be lending let alone asking for more money? No. God love them. Make sure you post any response from them! I'm dying to hear it! :D

OK..after responding to MTE (see post AG letter 1) I took this on. I first dropped a note to my mediator at the AG asking a few more clsrifications on the internet payday laws. I am still not super clear where Indiana stands on this. Then I wrote the person who responded to the AG from GFSIL. I said I was in reciept of her letter to the AG and that my position was still that I had more than paid the loan in full by law..not counting the numerous NSF charges I have to pay caused by GFSIL when they refused to stop debits after they were revoked. I also stated that in her letter she said that if I contacted her she was positive the situation could be resolved to both our satisfaction. I will be satisfied when my account is closed, pif and no further actions are being taken. I then asked what she had in mind to resolve our situation. I requested response by email.

Sounds great! Don't put it past them to try to contact you via telephone though. Morons. You stated the facts. You held your ground. It sounds good. Please keep us updated on their "positive" response!

That's why they don't want to use USPS! They'd go broke! LOL! Email is my savior. I will not deal with them over the telephone. I get flustered and then I get mad. I have to use email so I can come here, post my frustrations, have my panic attack, then compose myself and then I can respond to their email!
