When Paying A Collection Agency....

So I am going to try to contact original creditor to see what they say. Then, if have to, will contact the collection agency. I plan on paying in full to end this. Is it safe to pay them with a personal check since this will be the only time I need to deal with them?

Yes, you can contact your original creditor and find out if they are willing to work with you if the debt has not been sold to the outside collection agency.
Make sure that you have the complete paperwork so that you can track your correspondence later. Have all the receipts of your payments made and do all your correspondence written.
