hello everyone. I am in need of some advice. I am so tired of crying every night and being in a stuck position unable to do anything. My hubby and I have three credit cards. 1 is at 5300, another is at 6000, and the last is at 1200. I was almost 4 months behind on payments when I joined care one credit counseling. I am not sure if this was a good idea. I pay 332 a month to them and they disperse to the credit card companies. On all three I was over the limit by 500 or more dollars. I have been in the program since january of this year. our house payment is like 800.00. plus the 332. plus all other normal bills and expenses. My hubby has been working 12 hour days since april and he is working himself to death. Now he may be going to only 8 hour days again and we are terrified. I work 8 hour days and go to school full time. we are so scared and I don't think they will lower the management plan at all. How do I approach this? We don't know where to go for consolidation as our credit is so bad (He had perfect credit before me, now I feel so guilty). I realize my mistakes and I am trying to work it out but it feels like it will never get better. I apologize for the length of this, but I don't know what else to do. Also, the debt settlement seems too good to be true. Can anyone verify this for me, someone who has written to their creditors and it has worked. Any and all help would be wonderful! Thanks in advance.

there are many people who have stood where you are standing now and through the help of the people here are finding there way out, of just about everything there is to get into as far as debt. in the meantime untill someone gets back to you soon. please list who and how much you owe, what state you are in, and how old the debts are. please, no personal names or numbers. just relax, you came to the right place and someone will be here shortly.

I am in a debt management program where I make one payment a month to my company and they pay the credit cards and my past due medical bills. Once they start making payments you generally can not change the amount you are sending in. Very often after a few months of regular payments the CC companies will lower the interest and take off some over limit fees, etc so you can pay it off sooner. You can try calling your counselor and tell her the situation you are in...see if they can recommend anything...sometimes you can contact the cc and tell them your situation...they then may offer you a reduced pay off in their "hardship program" but that sometimes is expected to be paid off in a few months.
