I haven't been able to really sleep in two days, maybe 'cuz I'm drinking 10 cans of coke a day...all since I've started trying to quit smoking. I'm sorry Sue. You can borrow my husband tonight. He has been talking dirty to me all night, and it's really getting old. I do not need my butt slapped every time I need to bend down to get something. I went out for a run and he made lecherous comments when I was stretching out. He's being really gross tonight. He's acting like the nasty old guys at work. I told him that, and now he's not speaking to me. Want him?

I have one that for some reason says things to me that I find shocking and inappropritae. You would think I would be used to his vulagarities but I wasn't raised that way. I guess you could call me a prude or better yet a lady. I have been with him for 17 years so I should be used to it right. I don't think you ever get used to that kind of trashy talk.

Sometimes it's funny but most of the time it gets on my nerves. Oh well what do you do.

OK, my comment to this husband thing is.....
All men must be the same!!! My husband and I are coming up on 18 years of marriage this Saturday and I wake up to this: feel like giving me a little? How can that turn anyone on????? I get the butt slaps, etc. as well. I also don't get how men can be in the mood 24/7/365 and it takes absolutely NOTHING to get them there. Am I correct, or what???????

LOL Interesting. Most of my best friends for some reason have always been girls (though I am not gay..."not that there's anything wrong with that" --Seinfeld). I must be an oddity. No not all men are the same. My best friend, who is a woman, is an inpriration. And I don't expect any more from her. She's been my friend for over 25 years and I trust her more than anyone I can think of.

OMG...I missed the entire thing from Fins offer of her hubby up to now...I'm dyin' over here...LOL

S'ok though, because a guy at work that I've been out with once before has asked me out again. ;-) Hee hee hee...

And Mr. No-Show from the other night finally e-mailed me yesterday and said "I overslept, sorry."...that was the extent of it. GRRRR. So I sent him a one liner back and we'll see what he makes of it. Just told him I hoped he had a nice week. ;-)

Am I being B-TCHY? Nah...I just know that my time to get out there and have fun without having to find someone to watch the kids is growing short.

And Fins, and other ladies...sorry...I'd take pretty much any of your vulgar old hubbies right now over being alone! Sometimes you gotta consider the alternative. I know it gets annoying sometimes - I hated some of the vulgar things my ex did when we were married (getting drunk at a restaurant during a romantic dinner for 2 and reaching across the table and down my shirt was one), but at sometimes being alone is worse!

Okay, I'm with Law Student here. I know not ALL men are like this! LOL! I have a lot of guy friends (I get along better with guys, I think). The majority of them don't come off with that crap. My ex never came off with that crap. Probably because I would have punched him! LOL! But, bflow, your husbands "line" is priceless! I was cracking up! But now, suebee, I understand. I don't have "a man" either. So sometimes I get a little jealous of the attention the married/committed people are, but then on the other hand, I've gotten so used to being my own person and being on my own since ditching the ex, that I kind of enjoy it. So, I'm taking the middle road on this one! I'm kind of jealous of the attention you all get, but then again, maybe I don't want that kind of attention! LOL! But, bflow, your husbands "line" - OMG! I love it!

I keep re-reading this thread and laughing out loud at the hubby remarks...

I have to add a little something to this "rant" thread...between one of my dogs being VERY sick recently and the other one being a sneaky, conniving little Sh-t...I'm about to go nuts.

My Corgi had some sort of virus and was extremely ill for over a week. She's only just now getting back on her feet, but still can't eat real dog food. Get this - I have to feed her cooked hamburger and rice. Possibly forever. The vet said if she can't adapt to regular dog food again, I may be stuck feeding her this for the rest of her life, that her digestive system may have just gotten so irritated by this virus that she can't handle the switch back to regular food. I've tried slowly adding dog food back in, as the vet recommended, just a little at a time added to the burger/rice mixture (and we're talking 1 tablespoon of food, increasing by another tablespoon every day), and when I get to where she's almost all the way back to straight dog food again, she gets sick all over again. GRUMBLE.. I'm alternately spending money on hamburger & rice and cleaning products. The darn dog is eating better than I am at this point. But if this keeps her well, then I guess that's what we have to do - 1 lb of burger lasts her a couple of weeks, so I guess it's not SO bad.

As for the OTHER dog....well, when I had a date last week, we came back to my place and I was going to grill out. I took out some pork steaks (got 'em on sale - woohoo!) and put them on the counter to thaw. Figured it wouldn't take long, because they were thin cut. We started watching a movie, and never heard a sound...until I walked in the kitchen and found the empty package on the floor from the pork steaks! The dog ate both pork steaks, bones and all, without us hearing a thing! So what did we have for dinner? Bologna sandwiches!! Which, by the way, the dog also snuck up on me when my back was turned, and ate mine off my plate when I sat it on the counter for a moment and turned around to get something out of the fridge - he stood up and nipped it right off the plate.

I'm posting pics of these two troublemakers on the picture thread...

sue, your corgi, could she be sick from anything regarding the huge dog food recall? I'm still paranoid about that. Did your vet mention anything about that at all?

Thanks for the concern, cannr! No, she was eating a food that wasn't involved in the recalls. He ran tests and said it was a virus - apparently there's a doggie intestinal virus going around lately - he's seen several dogs with it lately, and some do better at recovering from it than others. Small breeds, like Corgis, don't do so great with it. He said she may never really get back to 100%, that although she'll feel and look better, she may always have a problem with food. I'm just glad she doesn't have potty problems anymore. If I have to keep her on the bland diet to keep that controlled, then I guess that's what we'll do.

Oh gosh Sue..That sucks!! I hate bologna!! I know what you mean, though..My dumb dog will eat anything you don't have your eyes completely focused on. I wouldn't even leave a pizza in a box on the counter. I've lost some terrific treats that I earned because of that mutt.

Here's something funny that happened today! Most of you know that I run competitively. At the races that I do, I tend to see some of the same people. There is one gentleman that I call Mr. Great. You know the type...Perfect hair, perfect body, perfect stride. He's the guy always at the finish line when you cross it; slapping you on the back and telling you great job. I can't stand him. So anyway..I went to my 8-yr-old boy's football practice..and guess who was there? Mr. Great! His kid is on Andrew's team. He sat by me and talked to me. I can't stand him, because he's better than me, he knows it, and he silently rubs it in my face, I know he does! Anyway, we're sitting there, and he fainted!!! He passed out from the heat!! We run 10 and 15 miles in 90 degrees, and he passes out cold in 87 degrees sitting in the shade!! Sweet victory, I got him a bottle of water and asked if he was ok..Oh, I finally won! :D

That is too funny with the dog eating the tooth! We've gotten baggies of shredded bills in the bank before with the dog story. A guy actually waited for his dog to poop out the hundred dollar bill the dog had eaten, then brought all of the partially digested pieces in to the bank to see if he could exchange it for a new bill. Uh...NO! Send it to the Feds so they can get a laugh out of it.

thanks everyone! It went ok.....but just ok. I think that one's pretty much out of the picture.

Made the trip to pick up my boys today - up since 4 a.m., on the road since 5 a.m., just returned at 9:10 p.m. One kid already showered and in bed, one to go, and then I finally get my turn. 746 miles in one day.

So here's my vent for the day. I'm pissed off.

Ok, I'm very ****about my hair, nails, toes, EYEBROWS. I don't go to a $50 haircut place, but I don't go to a $15 haircut place either. I am willing to spend a little more money to get things done by people who didn't just graduate and will soon move on to another place. Anyway, I made a hair appointment for yesterday. I called them on Thurs and made the apt. They scheduled me for 1:30. I was running a little early, and got there at 1:10. I figured they'd be busy on a Saturday afternoon, so I'd read the style books while waiting. As I walked in, I saw that the place now closed at 2pm on Saturdays. So I sit down, and almost immediately the stylist got me. I go back, and told her I wanted about 4 inches cut off, and maybe some long ****. (My hair comes to the middle of my back) I wanted it to look a little different. She tells me no, she's just going to give me a trim, sharpen it up a bit and shorten my layers...And my face is waaaaaaaaaay too thin for ANY kind of ****, I would look just awful! She actually told me this, I kinda like **** on me, personally. So she spends about 6 minutes on my hair, and tells me I'm done. I looked exactly the same. So she takes me back to the eyebrow station. I like my brows very thin. She tells me that would look awful on me, my brows are perfect right now. I argued with her..I like them thin, it's my face. She says they ARE thin. You want them gone? I said NO!! They are not thin enough! Thin them out! I was pissed! She slams my head back and starts waxing. She says, "You know, maybe you should get them lightened the next time you get highlights if you think you want them to look so thin. I tell you, you are going to look really bad, because your face is too narrow. " I was HOT! I was so close to saying "%^@# YOU!!!" So she gets done and I paid $40 and got into my car and sat there FUMING. She rushed me..The whole thing took 15 minutes! And I looked EXACTLY the same. My eyebrows were not done right, so when I got home I had to pluck the hell out of them. I'm still mad. I paid for nothing.

Fins- I would be mad too!! I have run into people at beauty shops like that, don't ever go back either!

I had one tell me that, now that I was older, I might want to skip the banks, and have it shorter, blah blah. I told her if she couldn't cut it like I wanted, I would wait until someone else had time to. It was my hair, and if I wanted to look like a monkey, then she better cut me to look like one  I also told one whne she said, oh you don't want to curl your hair, it would look awfull on you- I said, I like looking awful, curl it!!KAren

I have never had anyone rush me out the door but just two weeks ago I went to have my hair cut and it looks just like it did when I went in. What is with the stylists today? You pay good money to go have them do what they chose as a profession and nobody wants to actually do it! WHATEVER! I won't go back to the one I visited last time but I am from a small area and selection is SLIM!!!!
