I am so fed up with this company! :x They have been calling my house and cell phone leaving all kinds of messages about a credit card debt that I have. (I lost my job and got really far behind on payments) I was unfortunate enough to answer one of these calls by mistake. I explained to the collections guy that my husband and I are in the process of a debt consolidation and that the debt was being taken care of (worked out) with this company. He refused to hear that and told me that I could just use a different credit card to transfer the debt to. I told him that we no longer have credit cards (which is true) because of this problem. He was shocked that we did not have a credit card. He then told me that I had to come up with half of the debt (about $2,000) in 2 days, or my case was going to trial and my wages would be garnished so the credit card company could receive their payment. Again, I told him that we were in the process of a debt consolidation and that I did not have access to that amount of money. If I did, I wouldn't have the debt in the first place! Since that conversation, ASG has constantly called my house and cell phone with mild threatening messages and repeated harassment. We have sent faxes to the debt consolidation company we are using to inform them of what ASG is doing and saying. What else can we do? I am very afraid that legal action really will be taken and my wages will be garnished.

ASG is breaking many laws during that phone conversation.Send them a debt validation letter certified return receipt mail. The third link in my signature at the bottom of my post has a good one.The first two links are for consumer law that you should become familiar with. If at all possible contact the original creditor and inform them to pull the accounts back so you can pay them directly. Also inform them it would limit their legal liability since their collector is breaking the law.

you people really make me laugh, you complain about collection agency's calling you about a debt "you do not owe" but yet it seems you're on every page, insulting several different company's. It looks to me as if you try and get out of paying more than one debt..Scammmers!! Are you gonna call them all lair's??? If you pay your bills, they'll stop calling you.

From one guest to another....life has many many different changes in store for us, changes that are good, and changes that are bad. Changes that we bring upon on our own, and sudden changes that are least expected and show up out of the blue. When someone is faced with those sudden out of the blue changes, their whole life is sometimes turned upside down, maybe they become ill, maybe they lose a job, maybe a loss of a spouse who was the main source of income, so many things can make for becoming behind on bills. Alot if CA's do not want to hear anything else but that they will get payment in full, or payments set up. Alot of these people that are in debt do not need people calling a number of times a day telling them what a low life they are, threatening them, and then calling some more. If I were to say to you 'look, right now I am having some hard times that I am trying to work out, I just can not pay anything at the moment', what would you do or say? Most likely you would keep calling and calling finally to get me to not answer the phone, which by the way is usually automated. People, or MOST people, do not want to be in any debt situation, you make it sound as if they thrive to be in debt. You make it sound as though everyone is telling lies to get out of paying. You won't listen to the truth so maybe telling lies will get through. If that was you on the other threads saying just pay your bills, you need to think, think about what brought them to not being able to pay. Have some human compasion and understanding about your fellow man (or woman). You are not king of the road here, you are not some person who is totally debt free, you are not some person who has NEVER had anything happen to them that made things change for the worse. Why then do you think something could not happen to anyone of us here to make us fall behind, that we want to be in debt, that we are dodging collectors all the time? How can someone say, get a loan, or use another credit card to pay the debt off?? So you(if you are a collector) can call me on that account? You, my friend, need to get some education on LIFE and what sometimes can happen in LIFE. If life was all uphill, we would have no need for breaks!!!!! #### happens, no one wants it to happen. Try to work things out with the person having debt instead of belittling them to the point of no return. Or are you to good for kindness?
