I recieved a call from them yesterday while I was at work and the man on the phone harrassed my daughter calling her names. I tried to get information from him on the details of his call and he would not give me any information and just hung up on me. What dhould I do?

Welcome to the forums Alicia!
If you take a look around, you'll see that there a quite a few posts about Ellis and thier ignorance! Many of us here have dealt with them as well. In order to get them to cease harassing you or your daughter, you should report them to Florida's Attorney General (Ellis is based out of Florida) and the FTC.
I got rid of them by faxing them a letter (the template is listed on the Ellis threads), telling them to cease contacting me.
Their ACA license is revoked, so they really shouldnt be harassing anyone to begin with!

Should I pay the amount hey want. Per our first conversation they stated I owed 480.00 plus 480.00 is fees. I sent them 400.00 just because they scared me to death by saying I would be picked up at my place of employment in 1 hour. Should I pay them more?

I wouldnt, I would wait until this issue is resolved by the attorney general to see if we can get a FAIR price (which would mean the amount of the loan we took out)

Hi Alicia

Please do not feel scared by the calls of Ellis Crosby. They will try in every possible way to scare you so that you start paying them hurriedly. They want to take the advantage of this fear that is still persisting in many of us.
If you can manage in anyway, try to get as much information about the person who called you up and record the number of calls along with the date and time.

You can exercise your consumer rights and take strict legal actions against them.

Roxette
