Call them at this number 863-297-3072 and get the arrangement in writing. Is Pinion Management reporting on your credit file? If so, their entry is hurting your scores. You can negotiate to remove their negative item in exchange of your payment.

hi--
What state do you live in? Last I heard, Pinion was out of Carson City, Nevada. Last I heard they were also not a licensed collection agency in Nevada. They are affiliated with United Cash Loans if I remember right. United is not licensed to do business either last I remember hearing.
All of this, if it is still true, is in your favor because companies that arent licensed to conduct business are breaking the law by conducting business. Let me know what state you live in and I will see what I can find out for you--you may be able to end this whole mess by making a couple phone calls to the proper agencies.

Let me see if I am understanding what you are saying because I just worke up and I tend to make less sense in the morning.
Are you saying that if they don't have a license then you don't have to pay for something you took? Or do you just wait a couple of years until it is sold/transfered to another collection agency who is to pay for it?

FYI, with all due respect, where do you come up with "not having to pay back an obligation" simply because I said "end this whole mess"?? By now, people should know that I do not advocate skipping out on legitimate obligations.
Ending this mess is simply me saying that you have a bargaining chip to use with these people if they are unlicensed. Companies like these try to operate under the radar because they know they arent legal. So, inform them that you know about them not being legal, and offer a final settlement. Inform that this is your one and only attempt to settle this debt and close this matter, if they choose not to take it, you will take your chances with the proper authorities, and so will they...In a court of law, it has already happened I believe, that a company operating illegally was made to forfeit any and all claims to the money they lent out, because they knowingly did so illegally. So, if you present this information to them, and give them the choice between accepting a portion of the debt or a lawsuit and no money at all, I think it's a safe bet which one they would pick.
Leverage is the goal, because unless you know the law and your rights, you have none and they hold all the cards.
I just asked for clarification. I don't read every post on this
