HHmmm....just thinking about payday loan laws in all the states and how some states have such protective laws and other's don't...I wonder if any change would occur if we wrote a letter pointing out the differences and showing what some states have done (such as prohibiting pdls period or capping them all at 33%)and then all signing it...I'm sure we could collect hundreds if not thousands of signatures...and then sent the letter off to the AG's/DFI in every state....the government (senators, etc.).

Any comments/ideas??

morning, can we send our petition to the 600 islands? Can we send our petition to the UK? How about sending it to Ireland? You know, I can get the contact names for these places! Okay, I'm kidding. You're idea is good. Will it do any good? I don't know. I think some states have such horrible pdl laws because that's where all the pdl's are. And everything is based upon state. Would this be like asking for a "nationwide" type of thing? To me, every state wants to be their own state. They want to do things their way. Hell, most of them think they're their own country anyway! LOL! I'm just thinking out loud here. Because I really do like your idea. I just think that the individual states aren't going to give a hoot. Personally, I think the states that have the worst pdl laws WANT it that way. I'm really beginning to get paranoid with all this stuff! LOL!

Oh, I totally agree with where you're coming from, morning. But, I swear, maybe me & ladybug are paranoid (with reason to be!). But, I'm seeing these certain states that allow CRAZY pdl laws and it seems to be the ones the pdl's reside in (of course). So, let's say the majority of "businesses" in these states are pdl's. Are they going to change their laws? Hell no. They don't want to run businesses out? Is that it? Even though they're practicing illegally? Or since it's in "thier" state, they're not illegal? See what I mean? Talk about confusing! And, yes, round and round we go!

If they're licensed in their own state (not ours), they should be paying their state taxes. So maybe they're not "really illegal" in their own state. But they are when it comes to lending to our states because they aren't paying taxes to do business in our states. However, I see your point. How about MTE? They're not even licensed in their own state. So, my question, how the hell are they still in business?

Amen to that. None of it makes sense. How are they doing business? How are they able to fund "loans" to people across state lines? What's up with this? Because they're getting away with it. Because they're lying. Because they're not responding to the agencies when contacted. All the while, thousands more people are taking out loans with them. They're rolling in the money, sucking bank accounts dry, etc. If they have to "let go" of a few loans do to non-payment, does it bother them? No. Because by the time we don't pay, about 10,000 other people have already given them their bank account information.
