Who thinks that Dog the Bounty Hunter has gotten the shaft from the US government raise your hands  . I cannot believe this crap

My god he went and captured a wanted fugitive hiding out in Mexico and we are going to punish him for catching one of the most wanted me. What is wrong with this country.

This is a excepert from the Glenn Beck show tonight with Dog the Bounty Hunter: Interview with Dog the Bounty Hunter, Dog the Bounty Hunter followed up his TV appearance last night with an in depth conversation about what was supposed to be a celebratory TV appearance. It turned sour just before the taping as Dog got the news that the charges had indeed not been dropped. Apparently at the White House someone who doesn't care for Dog the Bounty Hunter wants to proceed with criminal prosectution in regards to the Andrew Luster case.

Why should we be happy that one of America's Most Wanted Fugitives and heir to the Max Factor fortune be captured after he raped so many women

Come on people get real, we should be greatful that this serial rapist is behind bars where he belongs.

This is just my personal opinon but after working the law enforcement/corrections field for 20 years I have become very hardened in regards to the light sentences these inmates receive. And for once a judge finally sentenced him to a sentence that was well deserved.

I am a licensed bail enforcement agent myself...so I may be able to offer some insight here.

First, it is true that Mexico does not recognize the authority of bounty hunters, to them it is the same as kidnapping. Dog knew this before he took his crew there to get this guy, he knew the risk and he took it. And as for the criminal, yes, I am glad he got caught, especially since he was found with a notebook full of future plans to attack more women including the ex-girlfriend that helped get him convicted.

However, there is something else that most people arent aware of. A bail agent is legally allowed to apprehend someone because of a contract between that person and the bail bondsman. Now, here's how it works in a nutshell--

when you bond out of jail, you sign a power of attorney with the bondsman, and that gives him the right to have you apprehended if you skip your court date, or if you do not follow the conditions of your bond. This is not a law enforcement deal like a police officer has. here's the part most people do not know--Dog and crew were not authorized to hunt this fugitive down by the bondsman. A bounty hunter has to look for work--we have to contact bondsmen and basically gain their trust to get assigned cases. Dog did not get the green light from the bondsman in this case, they just loaded up and tracked the guy down on their own. This is a no-no. Not too long back, it was determined that Dog was not going to get any of the bond money for chasing this guy down because he was not even legally authorized to get him. The agreement with the bondsman to work the case is what gives the bail agent the authority to arrest, because he is in effect representing that bondsman....and Dog skipped that step.

Its a crappy deal too, but to be honest he brought it upon himself. He had the best of intentions but he didnt follow the way it needs to be done.

Thanks for clarifying this situation. Of course people only hear the bad part of it. Now I understand what the problem is/was. He is suppose to uphold the law and he knowingly violated it. However, I am glad that he got the rapist in prison where he belongs he should have followed the law himself. I do agree that he seems geniune in his caring of his fugitives but he does need to follow the law himself.
