Bad Spending Habits

I feel so ashamed & alone & not sure what to do.
Here's my story.
I was young, I was spending left & right. The bills came in fast & furious. I couldn't pay them, so what I did was get ANOTHER card to pay off that high priced card. So now I have 2 cards with high balances & the minimums are getting so hard to pay.
I feel like I'm drowning.
I don't know if I should call the credit companies & explain what I did and try to get on a payment plan. I don't think they'd do it permanently though. They would probably laugh at me, call me foolish & tell me to shove off.
I'm thinking the best way to get out of this hole I'm in, is to ask for a free consultation. But I'm scared. What if they can't help me? What if they don't WANT to help me? What if I can't meet the debt management companies payment plan? I don't want to declare bankruptcy.
I'm just feeling scared & alone & like no one will or can help me.

I did register (this morning) & I am already starting to feel better. I just hope I can find a consolidation company that will offer me reasonable payments.
This site said someone from Federated Financial Counseling Services, Corp will contact me. Has anyone dealt with them? I checked them out on BBB-what is too many complaints? I believe they have an amount of over 20 complaints. Is this a lot for a large company? The BBB states its a good company & works to resolve complaints when they arise. Not sure about them.

You shouldnt be feeling alone and scared because now you have us as your friends now! Since you have already signed up for the free consultation, you can also thake the second step and pull your credit reports. Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ you can get your free reports from all three bureaus there. Also, put up a list of your creditors and what you owe them - you will need this information when your counselor calls you.

You can certainly try to call the crdit card companies, and explain the situation to them. They may or may not work with you, but you lose nothing by trying.
