There has been a default jdgmnt entered in Nevada. How long will this take and what can they do?

I can help a little bit...If this is a consumer debt you will probably be garnished 25%. This is legal in the state of Nevada. I work with garnishments for a living, and with a default judgement your chance of stopping this is very slim. I've never seen it happen. Also, it will begin with probably no warning to you, ethically your HR department will give you a copy of the writ. What you can do is file insolvency at your county court. Be prepared to be nit-picked, and make sure you have w2s on hand. I've seen 25% get lowered to 15% this way. The way they look at it is that you had a chance to follow or make arrangements, but you failed.
