It is suggested that you open a new account at a different bank. Sometimes if it is the same bank errors can occur. They can somehow link the accounts and when something hits the old they will take money from the new.I would put my money in a diffderent bank that has nothing to do with your old bank

Pumpkin, Most of the members advise using a different bank..I had to use the same bank. I asked the bank to put in writing that the pdl's could not force my account open nor would the two accounts in any way be connected and charges from the closed account would not be placed on the new account. I was advised by many members to do this since I had to use the same bank. If you have not done that I would advise it. From what I have read here the trouble is not that the pdl's get your info rather the bank at some level charges the new account for the old account. If I am wrong please someone correct me....

I would not feel comfortable with an account at the same bank as the one the pdl's know about.

I would defintely go to a totally different bank myself. I don't trust anyone at the bank as no one is perfect and it could be reopened due to a clerical error.
