Can pdls companies go against your credit? Whats the worst that can happen when defaulting on payments?

Sometimes it will get reported to your credit report, but very rarely.

That is a loaded question you are asking. It really all depends on the situation. There isn't one answer. If the pdl is legal then the worst that can happen is that you are sued, a judgement is entered against you, and your check is garnished or bank accounts seized. If it's an illegal, then the worst that can happen is you get harrassed.

Somebody help me please. Does anyone know if webpayday is an illegal company. I received $400.00 from them over the internet and now they state i owe $800.00 which im not paying. I have received 3 phone calls this morning from someone within their company asking me when Im going to pay them back. I've told them everyday for the last 3 weeks that I'll only pay them the principle amount of $400.00 as soon as i get some funds. I just got my first paycheck in my new account a week ago and dont have it to pay to them right now. They said they are forwarding my case to an attorney today at 5 pm and ill be getting a court summons in the mail. I hung up on her and then she called right bk asking for the number to my human resources office. Can this really happen. Somebody shed some light for me.

I must admit, since I've been coming to this site, i have gotten really relaxed with knowing that these companies are illegeal in maryland. I been enjoying having money again and I haven't filed any complaints or sent any letters as of yet. I need help getting the ball rolling on eliminating these companies. where do i start.

In response to 2nband, I dont really feel confortable with human resources knowing what Im dealing with. I work for one of the biggest agency's in the government. I got a loan with payday loans last year and paid them like $600.00 over what i borrowed. Then recently i borrowed $400.00 and havent paid anything toward that amount. Technically it sounds like they owe me $200.00 from the first loan. Whatcha think?

You would think so, wouldn't you. I was just thinking that if they did finally get a hold of someone in HR and went for the wage assignment, etc, that if you had talked to them, they could put these people in their place. I do understand where you are coming from by not wanting to talk to them though. It is hard and a little embarrassing to do that, but I know for me, I had to just to protect myself and my HR department was very understanding
