The owner is listed as Shared but otherwise undesignated.
The date opened is 5/1999.
The last payment was 10/2002
This was reported in 6/2004.
I don't have any other info about this. We never received any collection letter from this. But I know it was her because we found out about her opening a Sear account in his name also. In which had we known better then we would have disputed it all the way to court.
What do we do about this?

Im not sure of the laws in your state, but in IL it is illegal for any minor under the age of 18 to enter into a binding contract such as a credit card, etc. If this is true for your state, then that purchase, contract from JC Pennys should be null and void. I would gather your Husbands birth certificate and drivers license, and the letter your got from JC Pennys, make copies and send it certified mail with a return reciept to your States Attorneys office. Also send a copy of that letter without the copies of the birth certificate and drivers liscene to JC Pennys collection department to let them know what you are doing. I would do this asap.
thanks
