if you are behind in Credit Card bills??

First they have to take you to court and get a court order. Have they done that? What state do you live in? Some states will bring both parties together to work out an agreement first. You are better off not letting it get to that point as a judgment will remain on your credit report for 10 years. Try contacting them and working something out. There are a few states that do not allow wage garnishment by creditors.

You should register as a member you are entitled toa free debt consultation. Click on the right side of your screen and register. A counselor will call you and give you some options. If I were you I would send them a cease and desist letter, stating that they only contact you through the USPS and that you will be working with a debt settlement company. That should make it so they don't call you at work.

If you are nearing the litigation phase of debt collection, I do not think a settlement company will be of much help you you. It does not appear to be uncommon for a consumer to be sued while pursuing settlement. By all means, talk to a counselor, but I have to wonder if consolidation would be more appropriate.
