luke, Gatlingburg, TN. Man, oh, man. Rent a cabin in the woods. Big porch overlooking a pond with ducks. Has a swing on it. All log. Beautiful. Fireplace. Old fashioned king size bed. Small, but perfect. I've only been once, but plan on going again. This was the ultimate..........

Thanks Luke. We have had some property for 15 years and we use to tent it for a couple of those years then we got a travel trailer, then hubby saw this and thought it was great. I looked at it and it was one of those things that you think yea this is nice but we would never be able to get it because of our credit. Then a year later (last year) they had a huge sale on it so I told the hubby YOU go to the bank. So he did (I didn't want to go because of the previous rejections when asking for loans) and when he came back he had this look on his face. The bank said yes. So here we are 15 years later and now we have a nice place, still trying to grow the grass back. One of the lakes is a spring fed lake it is so clear, but VERY cold. I still haven't been "in" that lake yet this year. The kids have but I guess now that i'm getting older it's too cold for me. We had a deer and her fawn visit our yard last weekend. I was sitting on the back deck with my coffee and they came in and was eating the food we put out for the chipmunks. It was so nice (everyone else was still sleeping) and peacefull.

Cannr, that sounds just awesome, can I come too. A huge debtcc party at the cabin. But I don't think we would all fit in that bed lol

Yes, everyone have a safe/fun weekend. I'm having a party so I will probably be having a few alcohol beverages....... :wink: I wont be driving though.......wowwohooooooooooo love 3 day weekends!

We had a place at the lake since I was young- it was my aunt and uncles place and we went there every weekend and summers. When they died I was supposeed to get that place and my grandparents place at the lake. My dad died before they did, and then they disowned me and my brother, so now no lake houses :cry:

We are staying home- mom still isn't doing very well, but I have a bird bath so I am going to sit on my porch and pretend it's the lake :lol: :lol: Karen

well, wish I could say I was going camping or to a cabin, but I think we're just going to take it easy this weekend. The boys still aren't unpacked from their trip home after the summer with their dad, so we have that to do, the regular housework, groceries, etc. I think we might set up our new (to us) tent in the backyard to be sure we know how to do it before we set off on an adventure with it, and we might go fishing and have a picnic. :D

Sue- that sounds like fun!! It would do all of you good to go do something like that- take your mind off of things for a while!! Catch some fish for me!..KAren :D

We're going back to the place where I caught the two nice bass in the picture below. They are cleaned and waiting in my freezer for more fish so we can have a big fish fry. :-)

Maybe I can get a few more whoppers like the one in the picture below so I can have a true "mess" of fish.

Those are nice ones!! I am about to die for a "mess" of fish- got to get my hubby out there to catch us some, we ate the last of the ones in freezer!

When mom gets to feeling better, and I can leave her alon, I'm going fishin'!! There's nothing more relaxing than being areound the water and just chillin!!..KAren

The only fish I like is Miss Pauls and Long John Silvers, thats what kind of guy I am. I wonder what their kids would look like if they got married. anyway....take care and have a great holiday everbody.
