ok I posted already but I don't think it went through. My husband and I have credit card bills totaling about 12,000.00 We are not behind on these bills, they are not in collection, we have been late on a payment once. Can we still consolidate? Would a personal loan be the better to go about it??

Sorry, yes it is more then one credit card. 3 credit cards and a revolving line of credit. The reson we want to consolidate them is that all credit cards and the line of credit are maxed out, high intrest rates and we are beginning to feel the weight of the debt. Its getting harder for to manage them. We figured if we consolidate them, we would have 1 payment a month, rather 4@ 200.00 a month.

Yes it is more then 1 credit card 3 of them and 1 line of revolving credit. We are beginning to feel the weight of the debt, before long we will be late on payments or not paying at all..... We dont want to have to do that. I also understand that a debt reconsolidation does effect your credit score ??

newbie...yes you can consolidate...you do not need to be in default first. If You register, you can avail yourself of the free consultation. They will go over options with you and suggest different avenues. They can also connect you with someone in your area when you are ready. As always please check out any company with the BBB before you move forward. And good luck!

newbie- have you tried talking with your credit card companies? Sometimes they will lower or drop your interest.

I called several of mine, and told them I wanted to pay these off, but because of the interest and fees, it was becoming difficult to do so, it would be worth a shot!

Feel free to ask questions, we are here to help and guide you through the process..Karen :D
