I have a question - I have two payday loans out there and I can not contact either of them to get this paid off. I borrowed 300 from each. One of them I have paid back 540.00 already and the other I have paid 450.00 from having them debit my checking every 2 weeks. I need help locating them for this to stop. I have paid these scum suckers enough. I live in NC and cant locate either of them. One is TJF Corp and the other is ASAP Inc.

How do I get this to stop - Help please!

Rollin, welcome to the forum. Based on your statement I am assuming these are internet laons? If they are storefront, there is a difference in how you deal with them. I see you told us what state you live in. Here are the laws for your state and a resource web site...

Have you closed your account so they can not debit it any longer. If you have not, you need to consider it. Please read this before closing your account ..
www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html

I searched this site and found this...TJF Corp is is a funding company for BMG (Bahamas Marketing Group. There may be other payday loan companies represented by this funding company, but try this one. The phone number is 1-866-224-8776. I could not find anything on ASAP. There are several here from NC that will help guide you, please do not hesitate to ask if you need it.

Rollin, you also might want to register and stick around awhile. It is free and the people here are great. I know the thought of closing your checking account stinks but a word of advice...they will not stop debiting you until you do. You do need to read that link becuase in some states you can get in more trouble if you do. I procrastinated for three weeks and it cost me about 1200.00. (I had seven loans)..Anyway if you need anything just ask.

WAIT! STOP! This guests state PROHIBITS pdl's! None. Period. No store front. No internet. Nothing. Prohibited! Guest, you need to close your bank account ASAP to prevent these pdl's from debiting your account any further. Your state prohibits any pdl's. Any money you have paid them should only have gone to the principle amount. Nothing more. Actually, they shouldn't even be lending to residents in your state. Illegal! Please, read the "sticky" at the top of this site page regarding closing your account. You need to do this ASAP. Be very careful regarding closing your account. If you have ANY questions after reading that, post and we can help you. Do not pay them another dime! You have overpaid illegal companies. Please post with any questions. Please.

I went to my bank today - (BofA) they connected me to the fraud department. I was instructed to close the account and reopen another one. They assured me they would not charge me if/when the PDL companies attempt to withdrawl money on the account I will be closing. I had to listen to a lecture about how dumb it was for me to have allowed them access like that. But that was worth knowing they would help me and understood what I needed to do to stop this the proper way.

Thanks to everyone who responded - you have really been a blessing to me. I registered for the site - but havent received my password reset yet! I cant wait to get on here as a memember so maybe I can offer assistance also.

Again - thank you all!

Rollin!

I have not reset up another account yet as I have two transactions that need to post. They said by Tuesday I can do that. They assured me they would not be linked. I will get it in writing though as you said. Good idea. I am just so happy to stop these slugs. I have also filed NC Atty General complaints on each of them. As I am sure I will be getting a call when they attempt to debit my account on my next pay day.

Since you have not set up another account yet, what about going to a completely different bank and starting over...that is usually what is advised by most of the members. That way you can ensure the accounts won't be linked. I have to say I did not and I check every day to be sure everything is as it should be. I do have it in writing but have become very paranoid.

OOOOhh. Got it. Well just be sure get it in writing the new account will not be linked with the old. And if you are a dumb a## then the rest of us are because we have done it too. I prefer to think of it a temporary insanty..if it works for ax murderers then it can work for us. Did no one post NC laws for you..you can find them at paydayinfo.org and then click on your state, they will come up.

Ok - now that I have set to close my account on Tuesday and sent off my NC AG complaint letters, do I need to draft a letter to send to these people once the realize my account is closed?

I saw there are sample letters at the top but non of them pertain to IPDL companies.

Also - am I able to request a refund for everything I paid above the loan amount and the loan fee?

Just wondering so I am ready for the next w

Yes, you will need to draft a letter to the pdl's. I know Cannr has a really good one, so you may want to PM her and ask her for a copy.

I would try for refunds. Since pdl's are illegal in your state anything you paid over the principle amount is technically owed back to you. But - Refunds can be hard to get. I don't want you to get your hopes up that you will be refunded a ton of money. They way I look at it is refunds should be the goal, but a PIF may be worth considering. There are some companies that are good about refunds, and others that you will end up fighting for the rest of your life if you won't settle for anything less.
