This is their reply:
We are licensed under a separate corporation that is not disclosed. If you feel you are being overcharged you are incorrect. $300 received by you and 3 $90 payments leaves a $30 principal balance and $60 fee for the 35 day period. Please remit $90 to close out the account.
"licensed under a separate corporation that is not disclosed" Can someone explain how that proves they are licensed to do business in Arizona. And as you can see they made no mention of the $120.00 increase. Plus no breakdown of the $60.00 fee.

treefrog, do not cave in to these people! This pld, PayCheckToday, is a pdl of MTE Financial. MTE Financial is notorious for claiming not to be who they are. I see now they are not claiming to be "anyone" as they now say they are not "disclosing" the information. Here is the information you need - They are unlicensed/illegal all across the United States. They are not even licensed/legal in their own state. All of your payments should have gone towards the principle amount. No "fees", no "rollovers", no "extensions". Nothing. Just the principle amount of the loan. You will need to play hard ball with these people. They are the ones who lie the most. Your bank account is closed so they can no longer debit. Thank God you did that! Good job! They will claim you owe a few hundred dollars more than the original loan itself, even after making hundreds in payments. Completely illegal. If you feel you must reply to them, reply only via email or USPS. Do not communicate with them via telephone. If they call, do not take the call. They aren't bad on phone calls though. They mainly work through email. Do not be "nice" in your emails to them. Stand strong. Keep in mind they are illegal - period. Whatever you have paid them so far should go towards the principle amount - period. And you need to file complaints on these guys. Please. They are being given Cease & Desist orders from different states as we speak. Do not negotiate to pay any more than the original amount of the loan. If you need any more information regarding them, let me know. I'd be more than glad to give you more information or help. As they are a thorn in my side! You need to file complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and your state Attorney General. Let me know if you need more info.
little frog, that is way better than the one they sent me today.
little frog, that is way better than the one they sent me today. They are part of a company (which is usually descirbed as evil) called MTE and they have no rhym nor reason they way they do things. Today they informed me I lived at an address in another state. I have seen something similar on other posts regarding "licensed under a separate corporation that is not disclosed"...It does not prove they are licensed in Az rater it proves they are illegal. If they were legitimate, they would have gvien up the licensing info... Someone please correct me if I am wrong... HAve you overpaid them?..or do you still owe a balance.
Canner - you are toooo quick. I can't wait until I can remember
Canner - you are toooo quick. I can't wait until I can remember info that quickly...It is doubtful I will ever type that quickly. Or did you get that voice program?

If I want to be nice...then I figure I owe them $30.00.
$300.00 - ($90 X 3) $270 = $30.00
If I want to be mean and nasty...Check out this part of the AZ Rev Stat on unlicensed companies (expecially section D)
6-1262. Violation; classification; individual liability
A. A person that provides deferred presentment services without a license is guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor.
B. A licensee that violates this chapter or the rules adopted pursuant to this chapter is subject to revocation of the licensee's license and is guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor.
C. An officer or agent of a corporation or association who participates in a violation of this chapter is subject to the penalties prescribed in this section.
D. Except as the result of an accidental or bona fide error, if the licensee charges, contracts for or receives any amount in excess of the fees expressly permitted by this chapter, the deferred presentment is voidable and the licensee has no right to collect or receive any fees in connection with the deferred presentment transaction. Any deferred presentment transaction that is made by a person who is required to be licensed pursuant to this chapter but who is not licensed is void, and the person has no right to collect, receive or retain any principal or other fees in connection with that deferred presentment transaction.

Thank you all...When I took a real look at my finances and realized I was paying out almost 3/4 of my take home pay in payday loans each month I had to do something. I also have 5 PDL loans from local store fronts. To them I have sent a letter offering a payment schedule that will pay them off in 6 months. I have even offered to pay an extra $25.00 NSF fee because I closed my account. All these loans are for $500 + 2 weeks interest. Hopefully they will work with me on this. I'm just waiting to hear back from them. I am handling everything by e-mail or USPS that way there is written documentation.

treefrog, I just love you! You have done some good work! You've taken the right approach to everything. I'm hoping the store fronts will work with you. And you're covering your butt with your documentation. You are great! I do believe I am going to attempt to get to your home page and already add myself as a fan of yours! :D
I just signed up today....how do I set-up a home page?

Thanks Cannr! I have learn a lot about "covering your butt" because of where I work. Documentation and researching laws are a big thing. I work in the Finance Dept of the Superior Court here in Tucson, AZ.
