New threats to your credit

I have $120 in library fines on my report. When we moved from Indiana to Illinois, I guess I packed the books and the CD without even paying attention. I have them sitting right next to me an intend to ship them off tomorrow. It is through Unique National. Just wanted to let people know to be careful of library fines & any tickets.

Thank you for the heads up mrhender, I wonder if that is server enough to go on your credit report? You may want to pull your annual free credit report from trans union, equafax, and experian just to find out and have it removed if you have already paid the library.

I "respectfully requested" they remove it once they receive and credit the books back. I'll let everyone know.

I didn't realize that you can actually get a ticket it's a misdemeanor but none the less for I think it is termed "theft of services", or "theft by deception" I think it is one of those.
I know our local library forgives people's fines once a year as long as they have gotten the books back.

Update:
This is the email I just got from the library, please note I sent the CD back without the case since I couldn't find it. The original balance was $120.
I say that is still way ridiculous. I know the local library here maxes out late fees at $5 no matter what. And I seriously doubt a plastic case cost $100. I'm super ticked about this. I might as well have kept the books.
