Does anybody know if Nationwide Cash has a license? I have read conflicting posts regarding their licensing, some say they are licensed in New Mexico and some say they are not licensed. The calls are starting and I would like to know what I am dealing with. Thanks a bunch!

Sorry, I had this posted in the wrong place, I deleted it and reposted here. I'm still new at this and not sure what I'm doing.

Thanks for the licensing info Goudah.

Unfortunately WI laws suck. As long as they are licensed somewhere, you have to follow the laws in the state they are licensed in. Got a nasty email from them yesterday, saying I have ingnored all of their attempts to contact me. What a bunch of crap. Yesterday, was the first time I heard anything from them, they received my Revoke Authorization letter in the end of August. They certainly do not have good reviews with the BBB. I will be filing complaints with the NM AG, WI AG, BBB, FTC and anyone else I can think of!

Sorry they're licensed, teri. And in New Mexico. Lord.... Now you have to abide by New Mexico state pdl law. :x

Thanks, it's a bummer...but they will just have to wait their turn. I wish there was some way to put all of these places out of business and make them illegal everywhere. They have caused some many good people a world of problems. Guess all we can do is keep filing complaints, and cause them as many headaches as they cause us!

So, I got an email from this Scott Williams at Nationwide yesterday, saying I refused to respond to ALL their attempts to contact me. The email was THEIR FIRST attempt, anyway, I responded back, stating that I would like to make arrangements to settle the debt, but asked for debt validation. This is the response I got

NATIONWIDECASH

Dear Teri,

You took $400.00 from this institution and made only a
single payment. Then you filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. You owe our institution the funds that we gave you in any state in the United States. This is extortion. You need to call in and make arrangements to pay off your loan or we will take action against you.
This is not a "3rd party collection agency", this is 1st party. We are still the same instruction you took the loan from. We will not be intimidated or extorted by your BBB complaint, where is our funds? Why haven't you returned them to us or made arrangements to do so? I intend to proceed with full action within the next two days if you do not make arrangements to pay off this loan. You have ignored all attempts to make
arrangements with you.

You need to call us within 48 hours immediately upon receipt of
this letter. This letter serves as written notice that you have not only
failed to honor the terms and conditions set forth in this contract, but
have also breached the agreement you signed in repaying your loan.

SCOTT WILLIAMS

Nationwide Financial

In my email I also asked them to contact me in writing only. After he sent the above response, he called work and left a message on my voicemail.

In his response he state that I live in West Virginia....I'm in Wisconsin....

If I asked them for a Debt Validation don't they have to respond to me in writing, detailing the exact amount I owe....or does that only apply to CA's, not the original lender? I don't want to make a deal with these people over the phone, I want something in writing. Please help. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your luck Teri- my account with Nationwide cash went to Ambassador Collections last month and some how Ambassador TRIED to pull 300.00 out of my account on the loan. I went to the bank and explained the situtation to them and they returned my funds to me. I filed a complaint and had not heard a word back.....Ambassador Collections are 1 of the worst CA's I have dealt with.

I hope you can get something in writing...I did but it was an inaccurate amount. I've asked for a correct validation letter and have not had any luck....

Sorry about your luck too Tweety.

I'm a little confused, right now Nationwide Cash is the one contacting me, if they send it to collections, will it go to Ambassador? I thought Ambassador was the same as Nationwide, because they are the one the put the money in my account...or are there two different companies named Ambassador? :?

I just filed another complaint with my state AG, and will file another one with the BBB and FTC. I just don't want to call this Scott guy back, he's a real jerk, and the bottom line is, I want what I owe in writing.

So did they try pulling the funds from a new account or the original one from when you took out the loan? What a bunch of creeps!

no, they havent tried to pull anything from my new account....I have given NO ONE my account info.....

when I found out that Ambassador tried to pull the funds I called the bank and they gave me the number for ambassador- that was the number they had. When I filed out the complaint with the BBB it was the same company-I think there is just 1 Ambasador Collections that deal with Nationwide Cash. I could be wrong though...When I called the number (Ambassador) the man I talked to was a "dave schofield" he told me to " do what you need to do" Believe me I did.....

Well that's good to hear...call me paranoid, but I could picture these evil companies hiring computer hackers to get info on us!

I guess I'll just let my buddy Scott Williams send me to collections...cause I don't have a dime to send them right now....maybe the next person to hassle me will be a tad bit nicer than Scott....Yeah right!

Just being nosy, I looked at BBB. Nationwide Cash is listed as "loans". Ambassador Financial is listed as "collection agency" in Phoenix, AZ. Are they one in the same? Lord only knows. Nationwide Cash is rated "F" on BBB (are you surprised?) and Ambassador Financial states no complaints. Huh. I don't know here....

I'm not sure I can do that living in WI, there are no limits here on charges...so I have to follow the NM laws....I will definately start just sending them money orders for what I can afford....once I get up to the $400 principle, being paid, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens....

That whole WI law is pretty crappy if you ask me....I get a ton of emails everyday from PDL companies offering loans....it's just your word against their's as far as who pursued who....Anyway I just got this from my buddy Scott at Nationwide....

I will put your account on hold so that we may be able to arbitrate
repayment. You will be contact at you residence by a compliance manager
to arbitrate repayment and settle your debt. We need to correspond
verbally to do this. By not calling in, there is too much confusion, we
have no emails sent by you in reference to this account prior to our
exchange. You have not called in regards to this loan since you
reactivated it. Please respond when you are contacted
so that we may work to resolve this situation. Thank you.

Not sure what that is all about, I never responded to his last email or the voice mail he left me.

Guess I'll just wait for the call....

I dealt with Nationwide...they did respond to a couple of my emails but by telephone mostly. When push came to shove with the AG, they even made a point to call me at work to tell me they were giving me a PIF...they said they would email confirmation but didn't..however they did email the discussion to my AG, who then emailed it to me.

Nationwide/Ambassador Collections, is another PDL, that gives their phone number, on your bank statement, when they debit money. If you look at the debit they make, and look to the right of the 'Name of Instutution', they give their phone number. ( I've had trouble with them several times.) I've called then umber..they told me they have, " never heard of Nationwide and the name, of their company, is Ambassador Collections." They are such sneaks!!!
