debt
Hi.....OMG!! What a story. First things first...take a DEEP breath. I experienced a FEW CA's doing this..saying, " they have sent out letters, but, I have never recieved them." Can you talk to a lawyer? You said you can talk to your bank...providing they are OR are about to take money from your account? Can you explain to your bank what is going on? Can you tell me a bit more? From what I'm understanding, about your post, this debt is some kind of 'on-line gambling' thing......please correct me if I'm wrong. Tell ya what....please tell me what state you live in. And you're saying this debt DOESN'T belong to you? Can you please inform me of these questions? Thanks. I'll help you the best way I can. I know there are SEVERAL other people, on this Forum, that know the laws ALOT better than I do, and can 'lead you in the right direction'. Hang in there!
Unfortunately this is going to take a bit of work on your part.
Unfortunately this is going to take a bit of work on your part. They will not sue you because the loan is illegal if it has to do with online gambling and it is not yours. You will have a very difficult time suing them because they are probably located off shore. I suspect someone stole your bank account info to pay these guys and then you of course stopped the payment. A majority of identity theft is committed by someone you know so keep a close eye on those you come in contact with.
The first thing you need to do is check all 3 credit reporting agencies. You can get a free copy from each once a year from one website on the net. Search this site for its address since I can not remember which it is. Look for any other suspicious activity. If the gambling site is not on any of them and your reports are clean then you are home free. If the gambling site is the only one you are in good shape. If there is a bunch of bad items then your work will be more difficult.
If your report is clean you can ignore the letters and calls. They will not sue you because the loan is illegal if it has to do with online gambling and it is not yours. You will have a very difficult time suing them because they are probably located off shore. File a police fraud report. File complaints with the following and any others you can think of: FTC, FCC, BBB, your state AG and their state AG if any, your states office of finance and theirs if any, FBI and CIA since it has to do with gambling and breaking federal law.
If the gambling site is the only one on your report file all complaints as listed above. Then dispute the line item with each agency with all the reports attached. Also send a copy to the company.
If there is a bunch of items then you need to file a police report with all items listed. File complaints to all the above agencies about the gambling site. File fraud disputes with each credit agency. File a 7 year fraud alert with each of the 3 C????????s. This should be free if you provide a police report. File a security freeze with each of the 3 C????????s which should also be free. The security freeze stays on until you request in writing to remove it. Dispute each suspect item with each of the 3 C????????s. The start filing with each of the companies in suspect with all documents attached to delete the items from your credit report. It is a lot of work and will take months to get everything cleaned up.

DOLLARSandSINCE has really covered all the bases here. It is a lot of work but all neccessary. I did not see mention of the CAs name. Who are they?
thank you all
I want thank you all for the quick response and the very good information you were so kind to offer-I have checked my credit report and it still looks good but I am wondering if it is too soon to check it since it has only been a few months since proof of signed receipt of my dispute I've done many of the things that dollars has advised already and will be following up with the other agencies I neglected to contact--I found the FTC to be very helpful with their e-mail responses and information they mailed me--I hadn't thought of contacting the FBI but it makes sense since they are one's arresting the payment processors--I didn't mention the CA's name didn't want to turn this into a CA bashing forum-- because maybe I dealt with a couple of their worst employees --and the debt they were trying to collect was probably a big challenge--I'm thinking okay--try collecting debt from something legal that someone hasn't paid simply because they were unable to and is trying to make ends meet and keep a roof over their head --next try collecting on-line gambling debt that someone really made but refuses to pay because debt is said to be legally uncollectable--next my case where it was on-line gambling debt that I didn't make--and I guess they weren't exactly bending over backwards to treat me with any type of respect or consideration--maybe the only way they ever collect on this type of debt is by being rude and threatening-- but I have seen some bad mention of them in other posts and they do seem to be the main collection agency for online gambling here in the US --they are from Ohio and I am from Ca.--I haven't heard anything from them since they sent me this "bill type of statement" and said to remit payment to a company I have never heard of--completely different name than company who processed money out of my bank account and were only charges I disputed with bank --so maybe debt had already been sold once before they attempted collection and added more money to amount I disputed with my bank --I am still not sure because I haven't received any type of statement with actual transactions on it-my last correspondence with them-- I just stuck a copy of the statement in their statement return envelope (that I knew they would open because there might be a payment inside!) with another letter telling them I was forwarding their latest contact to the ftc and state attorney general because they were still breaking the law and not providing debt validation--the thing that gets me is that from what I have seen on subject -once the debt gets resold again and again-it seems as though the character of people you deal with gets worse and worse-and I am still in shock that these people seem to have the power to get away with this time and time again and anyone who faces their wrath-ends up with a lot of work to do to straighten out what I have ended up feeling is a form of extortion that is somehow legal because these companies have a set of rules they are supposed to abide by!

hi sorry am still new to posting but above guest was me--thought I had logged in correctly--thanks again to all! also hope it didn't sound like I was defending CA actions--I just always look for good in people and try to find excuses for why they have done something wrong but this Ca reminds me of bullies back in grade school who try to get good things out of your lunch box--until you fight back and say "Hey those are my twinkies--you can't have them!" they will keep stealing those bad boys and eating them up in front of your eyes as long as you allow it to happen!--I know this is a goofy correlation-but this collection agency acted like a bunch of threatening thugs--and until people learn how to fight back--they will continue to act this way--maybe because their parents never taught them how to act or maybe they have no morals but stricter laws should be enacted to prevent them from acting in this manner! I won't be on this site for awhile because my mother is having another surgery but once again thank you all for all of your kind advice and I am sure you will continue offering support to others
If your credit report is clean other than this $600 disputed bil
If your credit report is clean other than this $600 disputed bill and the rest of the items are yours I really would not worry about it to much. One delinquent $600 bill that is in dispute by you is probably not going to be a deciding factor in future loans you may apply for. I would still work through the channels to get it removed but don????????t worry about them suing or anything.
Hi
Hi-- my mom's surgery got postponed because of her overall health-- so have been back tonight checking out my NOW MOST FAVORITE site!! Thanks again to all you nice people!!!---Dollars--you have been sooo helpful--but it wasn't $600--okay ? what happened --long story --not short- my husband and I got back from a fishing weekend and on a Sunday eve--I went on-line into my banking account--WASHINGTON MUTUAL-- to manage account and noticed a $200 charge from someone called "click2pay"-- and immediately called fraud on my account and the call was obviously outsourced overseas and I was told that nothing could be done other than an alert could be noted -and I would have to go into bank on Monday to close compromised account ----I was dumbfounded -- saying quote"Fraud never happens on the weekend?!! Is this why you can't do anything right now to close account or prevent additional fraud because something happened on Sunday?!!!" So I WAS eventually somehow pacified and went to bank first thing in morning the next day knowing that account had obviously been compromised --tried to close it out but bank employee convinced me to leave it open after transferring all money except $1--and he had put alerts to not process anything due to fraud--this he assured me was the best thing to do so that I could get my $200 back--and said there was NO WAY that any more activity would be allowed on this account--to wait 5-7 days and when the $200 got refunded to close account--Okay--so I check online a week later and see that Click2pay transactions for an additional $1000. have been processed from this account!!!( my overdraft that I have never used has allowed these charges to go through)WHAT?!!!--I go to bank the next morning--the excuse is that the ACH dept. didn't get the fraud alert in time so I have to AGAIN dispute all the additional charges- and don't worry--they will refund all over draft charges etc--after waiting for bank to make good on promises--3 weeks later I receive a letter from them saying my account is in arrears and I BETTER fix it before they report negative things to credit reporting agencies etc-- because it has been more than $1000 overdrawn for too long of a period--I once again go into bank and am finally MAD and not gonna take it anymore about the total negligence this bank has shown me regarding identity theft--they tell me that one of the transaction disputes I filed was lost and resend this via email to the ACH dept--and I finally get out of the neg balance and am finally done with this institution except for a small savings account still open--then over a month later Joseph mann and creed contacted me (Never heard a word from processor Click2pay)--the first employee stated that the NOW $1800 in collections was for click2pay internet gambling--the second employee who contacted me said that I must be mistaken that Click2pay has nothing to do with this etc. etc. they have lied and never sent any type of validation whatsoever--it isn't $600 dollars and since--it is $1800 that I DIDN'T make --and it was a $1200 dispute from a company called click2pay that I disputed with my bank but someone is trying to collect $1800!!!but JMC has refused to provide any type of debt validation whatsoever-go figure! With the way the economy is--I don't plan on buying or financing much in the next 7 years--even if my credit takes this hit it will still be good--but this jmc company and their tactics need to be protested with ftc and state attorney general every time they try to to the same thing to you--just remember you are not alone--there are people on this site who will help you and offer their support--My hope is that you find this site before you are coerced into their demands!

I feel your frustration when it comes to dealing with banks. I
I feel your frustration when it comes to dealing with banks. I swear they screw up on purpose just to try to screw us customers out of money and make our lives difficult. It appears that this is the only fraudulent entry against your credit and your bank though so at least you only have to deal with the one. I think there are a bunch of post on here dealing with click2pay and Joesph Mann. I think if you file your complaints and disputes it will hopefully work out ok.
