Okay, this week has been pdl hell week for cannr! :( Today I received a "letter" in the mail from National Credit Adjusters informing me that they "bought" my "account" (account?) and they want $500.00. Okay. So I read the fine print to see what the hell this is. It's my "account" from Instant Loan Today. Ummm.... really? And they want $500. Ummmm....really? So I got to Bud Hibbs site (thank you, anthony!) and, of course, it's on there under the ugly collection agencies. However, here is my question/delimma - What loan with Instant Loan Today? Loan? News to me. But, doesn't surprise me in the least. Now, this "collection agency", of course, is not licensed. Internet loans are illegal in my state. The option of a collection agency trying to collect on an internet loan is illegal in my state. Let's just sum it up - illegal all the way around. So, do I waste my time (and I do mean waste) and ask for debt validation from this illegal collection agency on an illegal internet loan (that I wasn't even aware of) in which all of this is illegal in my state no matter what? Or do I add this to my stack of trash to put in the shredder? :?

Okay. Decision has been made. I'm up for it. Now, where the hell do I find a debt validation letter? Is there one in the DYI section that would fit my situation????

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've dealt with NCA in early Feb this year...I got a call from a Lisa Ray one day at work and she was NASTY- After I had paid several rollovers for Cash Supply- the account defaulted and was bought by NCA- Lisa Ray wanted an additional 570.00 on the account AFTER I paid NCA- Over 200.00....I found this site filed the compaints telling the IN AG that I wanted my account PIF because I had over paid it and no response.....

This company is nasty- I requested 2 times before I filed complaints to get validation and they refused- also they never responded to the complaint I made with the BBB.....

I have not heard from them since.......

Thanks, tweety! :D Great information for me! I will soooooo do the debt validation letter then. They will probably "disappear". Fine with me. And I got a letter because I changed my phone number. I'm sure I would have gotten a telephone call. Too bad they don't have my new number. And no one in the world is going to get it! LOL! And PDLinvestigator gave good advice. I will have to advise this wonderfully illegal collection agency that they are trying to collect on a wonderfully illegal pdl that is wonderfully illegal in my state! Isn't it wonderful? LOL! :D

XOXOXOX's!!!!

Ahhh.... goudah. Never even thought about that. The reason I didn't even think about that is because this collection agency is unlicensed/illegal. So.... would they still "report" this? An unlicensed/illegal company putting a black mark on your credit report? I know, of course, that I could dispute it; however, do the credit bureaus verify whether this is a "legit" business trying to put a black mark on your report? Or do they just take it as it's given? This now has me curious.

never underestimate them. cpa has an entire website full of consumer complaints, about how they are scandels, how they break the law, how they have lost numerous harassment cases, and still have not repaid the victims, but yet yesterday they reported to my credit report. I just filed two more complaints with the ftc.
I am totally pi$$ed. they just appeared in my life on monday, refused to give me debt validation, but yet 4 days later they are reporting to my credit report!!!! I don't understand how they can do that

karen, I do believe we might just have to do some disputing here! Pain in the butt, but I'm up for it. I'll have to check and see if I've been reported. If so, it will be disputed immediately. Thank you! :D

Ok..I have a 'collections' letter, from a CA, conserning an un-paid PDL. Where do I find information, to see if this CA is legit? Also..I'm wondering..if most PDL's are illegal, how can ANY company seek ANY kind of payment?

Sd, which collection agency is it, if you do not mind sharing? You can also enter the company name in the search box at the top of the page and it will list any posts that discuss that company. That is my qustion too... I am curious becuase the DFI in my state say they are not recognized as legal debt and are uncollectable...

LOL! Hell, I've already been there (thanks to anthony!). Anthony is big on Bud Hibbs. So I immediately thought of anthony and went to Bud's site. I read about it. Gee, how surprising! Good to know the information though. Oh, I'll be going back to Bud's site. I'm still working on an appropriate "response", which is what I'm doing today. Jerks.

Were anyone of you able to find a BBB report on NCA? I am dealing with them also, I was not disputing the bill but was trying to make arrangements with them. When I mentioned Consumer credit counseling was going to be dealing with my bills, the lady went balistic on me calling me names and then proceding to hang up one me 4 times when i called to find out just what company I was dealing with at that moment in time. (I have several collection agencies I am working with) I have never had anyone of them talk to me like they did at NCA. They are denying hanging up on me like they did. I am waiting for my cell phone records to prove to the BBB they are lying. But if the BBB has so many complaints about them, why are they still members? How do I find other people that have filed harrasment charges? I have been to Bud's site, do I contact him? Anyways, good luck to you all. They have caller ID as Teresa knew it was me calling, then hanging up after she answered. Also they did not take blocked calls. She even threatened me with a garnishment when I asked what the name of the company was. Why hasnt anyone shut these people down In my state, Oregon, they dont have to be licensed here darn it...Again, thanks

cherub, did you request in writing for NCA to validate your debt? Or are you just trying to deal with them over the telephone? You can request debt validation in writing from them. They would probably have one hell of a time validating the debt. If they can't validate it, to hell with them. I sent my letter requesting debt validation (thanks again to anthony!).

ROXYNY..................the PDL is PayDayOK. I get ALOT of letters, from the same CA, on what I owe. They basically say they will " report to the Credit Bureau if I don't pay FULL amount." With all of the fees, I've paid. I SHOULD have paid them in full , some time back, ya know? Any advice?? Thanks Roxy..you're a 'dear'!! LOL

Honey, if you've been receiving letters from an actual collection agency regarding this pdl (of whom is not legal), you must respond in writing within 30 days to dispute the debt and demand debt validation. Don't just ignore them. Type them a letter requesting debt validation. Send it certified mail. They will have one hell of a time validating an illegal debt.

I just received a call from NCA informing me that I have a pay day loan with them. They also said it was a bad check. Well they picked on the wrong person see I happen to work for the AG. Payday loans are illeagal, they can not garnish wages nor threaten with leagal action. One thing I did do is inform them at the beginning of the call that they are being recorded and they were every single word. Some states you do not need to inform or have the parties consent but in my state you need to inform. I would suggest that you ask for loan verification, send a certified dispute and cease from harassement letter with return signature receipt, record every call and ledger the time and date stamp. The local AG, FTC, and FCC would need to follow up. If you have the recording transcribed please have it notorized as well.

Itetuan...what's the latest with NCA? I took out two internet loans in August with EPP Processing and JVC Funding, both out of Kansas. I live in Arkansas, but the loan documents had a "governing law" clause which may be a problem. I received two emails from NCA today about the loans. I have submitted information to my AG, but have had no response yet. Thanks!
