Charged off Account Question

I have been asking a lot of questions lately but trying to get the most information possible for my settlement offers.

Can I call them and offer a settlement to change my "charged off" status?

If so, what do I ask them to change it to?

In most cases, they will report as settled for less than owed, or something to those words on your credit report.
How long has this been charged off? They could have, or be in the process of sending or selling your account to a collection agency, which you don't want. It is much asier to deal with the original creditor than a CA.

What ever course of action you take, make sure you get in writing what you are wanting.
Good Luck-keep us posted..KAren
