I am a foodie...I love talking about food, reading about food, watching it on TV and of course consuming food. About mid-day I start thinking of what I am going to have for dinner.

So tell us, whats for dinner tonight in your home?

It almost looks like ketchup, but it is a more duller brownish red. Thick and you can sometimes see the datil seeds in it. But again that is the homemade sauce. I have only tried the storebought stuff once. I know a lot of people that like the store bought stuff but I have been spoiled with my grandmother's recipe that we have used for years.

OK another mission. Try to find Datil peppers this weekend. The best thing about living by the Gulf is the fresh, right off the boat, pink shrimp with the heads still attached. I like to cook them in an iron skillet with lots of garlic, butter and spices with the shells still on, heads and all. There is an orange stuff behing the head that addd richness. Then serve with crusty bread for dunking. You peel as you go and the spices get all over your hands and everything. Fun and delicious.
