Bj, Welcome, there are many people here who can help you. I see that you listed your state and companies. Some of these can be either store front or internet, and are the amounts listed the amount borrowed or paid. Please list whether these are store front or internet, the amount borrowed and the total amount paid to each company ( ie. checkn go - borrowed 500 - paid 800) this will help us help you. While you are working on that someone will be along soon to post your state laws so we all can see them to better help you. Roxy
P.s. I also posted this response under you post in the pub.

Ok, Bj, store fronts are usually legal and licensed. But I will look up the laws and post them for you. Have you talked to any of them yet to attempt to work out payment plans?

yes i have talked to some of them and i believe some of them are willing to work out like a payment plan but the others are really pushing the issue and have sent the checks to the bank. I dont know what to do because the funds are not available in my checking account. Of course the bank is going to charge me the NSF fees and whatever else they decide to do. I just wish i could find something that would consolidate all these debts into one easy monthly payment, but im sure that is not possible. I dont know what i am going to do. I gotta do something fast though.

Your store fronts are all licensed/legal. They will be following the law or their license would be revoked. You need to see how many of them are willing to work with you regarding making payments. Yes, if you don't contact them, they will turn the checks in to the bank. Yes, they will bounce and you will get NSF fees. Contact them all. See what they can do for you. Some will hold your check for maybe 30 days. Some will have to turn it in to the bank and have it returned before they can set up payment arrangements. Some will just be jerks and not willing to help you at all. Your best bet is to try contacting each one and seeing what they can do for you. If some of them are willing to take payments, only agree to an amount that you can actually afford to pay. Because if they work out a payment plan with you, you don't want to miss a payment. Try contacting them all. Keep a list of the names, and then write next to the name what they say. How they handle it. If they will take payments. If they have to turn it in to the bank first. If they won't work with you at all. Do this. It's just a phone call. The worst that can happen is they tell you "tough luck - no payment plan". Okay, move on to the next one. You might get the majority to work with you, which might make it a little easier. Try this and post what kind of reactions you received and we can see what we can do from there.
Similiar dilemma
I'm in the same boat as some of you, but haven't gone to several pdl's. I only have 1 outstanding pdl (store front, Checksmart, $460.00). It was due to clear my account last week, and when I pulled up my checking account balance, it showed a -758.00 (I had several other checks clearing at the same time.) I put a stop payment on the checksmart check - to prevent 4 NSF's on my account.
I've always paid checksmart immediately - so have a year of "good" history with them. We've had a rough month - emergency family crisis out of state (where I realized my account was in the negative, prompting the stop pay) - and haven't been able to pay off the debt yet.
If I make a payment arrangement with them - will they stop calling my contacts? (As far as I know, they haven't called anyone....yet.)
I live in Ohio, too.....

IT is worth contacting them and seeing if they will work with you. Try to do it in person though. I would also talk to the store or district manager. Checksmart is licensed and will be following the law. Generally if you do not hid and you keep them updated and they can contact you, they will not contact your references. If you have any other questions please just ask.

my question is even though these store fronts are licensed, (and most consult Tele track before approving, Ive spoken with many peole to confirm this) are they not breaking the state of Ohio lending law that says?????

just seeems fishy that they can go around the legal lending laws and then try to re-inforce the punishment

Yes, that is what the law means. It's one loan per licensee.
