I would contact local agencies in your area. Do you have any famiky or freinds that you can turn to for help?

How far into the foreclosure are you. Have they scheduled a sale yet or just sent you an intent notice. You may be able to get the mortgage company to agree to a short sale on your house which can sometimes leave you with the first and and last months rent for an apartment if you have a smart lawyer. You might also have a moving sale and unload everything that you don't need to raise some cash.

As u said in your post that this is the time when people need their friends and family around them . But it does not happen. As I was going through the forums, I came across this post by Nelly http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/settlement/about34874.html
and was really taken aback. You know people change, I would say they change drastically. The post says how an old woman is left alone by her son when she was facing a real tough time. She still has this guilt inside her that she has committed a sin by not paying her debts. After reading the post I feel that we can not even count on our family and friends.

My dad is going thru the same situation (well the foreclosure part). He is selling all of his stuff that he knows he wont need in order to raise money for renting a place. He is unemployed right now due to illness, so this is all coming at a bad time for him, but he is making it work. I do think that you either need to sell what you can to hopefully get some fast cash, or find some relatives or friends to live with until you can get on your feet. Good luck to you.

Family is not an option, my husband's parents told us they would rather spend the money on vacation for themselves and their friends then loan us money. My mother has no money, nor would she lend it. She bailed my sister out of drug addiction, 2 bankruptcies, hundreds of dollars in driving fines, etc. and the one time before this I asked for help she told me I was irresponsible and she didn't help irresponsible people. So the other stories about family do not surprise me. Our friends can not take us in. We have been served a notice of eviction. We had a company working with us who really tried hard and are reputable, Covenant Real Estate in Washington State. They tried to buy the house from the bank, of course for less then the mortgage, but the bank strung them along, cancelled the auction, rescheduled it, strung us along again and then a the last minute said they had decided to go ahead with the auction. Well, no one bid on the house and they had to buy it back from themselves. Then on 9/30, they sent a server with a lawsuit for eviction saying that we had refused to move. But no one told us we had to, this was the first we had heard. Now we have maybe two weeks to find a place to live, with no money and animals. We fought this to the bitter end and our reward for losing financially because my husband became disabled and can't work is bankruptcy, foreclosure, eviction and living on the streets. Welcome to America.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation hondored. You have really been dealt some tough breaks. I wish you the best of luck with everything and hope that you don't give up. Just when things look their worst, things happen and they get better. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers and pray for something/someone to come along and help you with all of your needs. Just know that we are all here to support you.
