They do. I paid mine this month that way. I told them that I changed checking accounts and did not want to give them my new one. They tried to get me to do money gram and I asked if they were going to deduct the fees and after a little more conversation, they finally told me about bill pay.

Isn't billpay when you use your bank to make online payments? If that is what they are talking about then I would not use that option because once again they have your bank info.

NO Kash you do not need to give out bank info. You enter their information into the program offered by you bank and the bank sends the money. in my case they send a certified check. It does not have anything other than my name and cash call account number on it.

Sorry I posted at the same time as you Roxy. What is billpay then? I know the last 2 banks I have used call their online payment center billpay, so I am confused now.

PYB, I asked all those questions to my bank and they told me that using it does not give out my account info. So far I have only used it to send companies certified checks.

I have only used it a handful of times myself and not recently. Too paranoid right now to pay anything over the internet. Just got all my bills caught up and I am scared of a set-back.

PYB, Im with you. I amso scared of putting my account number on the internet. I actually just use my checks for utility bills, and other payments that I know are safe. I do use my debit card alot , but feel ok doing it

I certainly do not blame you. I was asking them as an alternative to paying things on line. I was paying all my bills on their websites, cars, credit card etc. and after this fiasco was looking for a way to make payments without giving out my account info. I hate sending checks through the mail becuase I have had to deal with mail theft in the past. And have had bad experiences with my payments being late or not getting there even if I mail them 2 weeks early.

if we only knew then what we know now. Who could ever have imagined what a mess of trouble these loans would get us into. It affects every part of our lives, and there really is no way to get around it.

Yikes, 2 weeks. I am glad all but one of my bills I can pay here in town. The only payment I have to make online is my car payment. and for that I use my Debit/credit card through moneygram. And I do not set it to remember my information. It is a pain having to enter every month but I would rather not leave it on file.

Pyb that is a good idea. I did not think of that. I live in a small town and have to go to the next town over to pay the electric and water which is 20 miles away and I work one hour in the opposite direction and do not trust drop boxes.

I would not trust dropboxes either. I have seen too many people fish things out of them. Whether it was theirs they were trying to get back or just looking for cash who knows.

They are always getting broken into around here. And how do you prove our payment is in there. I also want a receipt or a way to verify they received my funds. There are too many screwups and the last thing I need is to have one more negative mark on my credit.

Oh I know the feeling. I returned my cable equipment to the office when I moved away from Jacksonville. I spent 45 minutes arguing with the guy because I was insisting on a receipt which he kept telling me I did not need. 4 months later I got a bill for $400 for non-returned equipment. Thank god I had insisted on a receipt. Now did he honestly forget to mark that I returned the equipment or was it on purpose because he thought that I was being a b****! Even so i still to this day insist on a receipt.

My sentiments exactly....When we moved from Florida, I went to have the electric turned off and pay the bill (we read our own meters and sent it in with the electric bill), they never posted it to my account. Luckily I got a receipt because of being "between banks" I did not have access to the check since the bank (credit union) was in Florida and I was in KY.

See, the good thing about billpay here is that when I first started dealing with CC, I was told that the only other way to pay besides ACH debit was thru Moneygram, which can be expensive and they would NOT take checks or billpay--in short, they were being royal pains. How interesting that they are starting to lighten up. See what mass layoffs will do for you??
