All these loans are new . . . . That is good news. They must follow the news laws that went into effect of July 1.
Star Advance is charging you more then allowed. They are also operating illegally. Oregon law specifically says internet based companies must be licensed.
Cash Net USA and Payday One are licensed. Can you post what they are charging you in fees?

I just double checked, and yes, Star Advance is not licensed.

The other 2 are. This is good and bad. This means that if they aer breaking the law a lot of pressure can be applied to make them follow it.

Yeah, that is way too much. You need to file a complaint agains
Yeah, that is way too much. You need to file a complaint against this company with the OR Dept of Banking. They may be able to get you a refund. It won't be in time to help with things right now, but it's better then nothing.
If Star Advance is not licensed and has already charged me $262.
If Star Advance is not licensed and has already charged me $262.30 toward the $400 loan and let me extend twice, still owing $217.40 do I really need to/have to pay back that much ($217.40) more? Cashnetusa has locked me out of my account until 10/17 so I can't even see exactly what I did pay them back. I am sure it was over $800.00 on a $500. loan.
I am going to my bank to try and get them to waive some fees.
thank you

But - With Cash Net USA, was the money paid before July 1? It gets kinda complicated. But if you extended the loan after July1, 2007, the new rates apply. But that July payment can still be the old rates.
Star Advance you would only owe them $137.70 more . . . .
Star Advance
THANK YOU!!! I am going to send them an email and tell them that is all I am willing to pay them. Let them know I know they are not licensed and see where that takes me.
Thank you again!!!
Also, be sure to file complaints with the Oregon Banking Dept.
Also, be sure to file complaints with the Oregon Banking Dept. They were a huge help to me. They even called some of my pdl's for me to explain to them how they were operating illegally . . . . Never heard from that pdl again!
